The Use Of Team-Based Learning As An Approach To Increased Engagement And Learning For Marketing Students: A Case Study, Paul Chad
Paul Chad
Marketing educators are often faced with poor preclass preparation by students, declining student interest in attending classes as the semester progresses, and student complaints regarding previous bad experiences with team assessment activities. Teambased learning (TBL) is an innovative teaching strategy using semiformalized guidelines aimed to enhance student engagement and improve teamwork and, hence, overcome the typical problems faced by educators. This case study examines the firsttime use of TBL in a postgraduate marketing subject at an Australian university. The results indicate that the TBL innovation has a positive influence on student engagement and offers opportunities to assist learning. The study …

The Influence Of Extension On Team Success Of A Milk Quality Improvement Program, Kathryn J. Hohmann, Pamela L. Ruegg
The Journal of Extension
A mail survey was used to determine the influence of Extension on team success of a milk quality improvement program for Wisconsin dairy producers. Producers who did not learn about Milk Money from Extension were less likely to complete the program and reported an increased bulk milk somatic cell count at the time of survey. Producers who did not use an Extension agent as the team leader were less likely to complete Milk Money compared to teams led by Extension agents. The impact of Extension on team success of Milk Money should be considered when creating new Extension programs.

An International Methodology To Describe Clinical Nursing Phenomena: A Team Approach, J. Clark, Martha Craft-Rosenberg, Connie Delaney
Martha J. Craft-Rosenberg
The development of a structured and standardized clinical language for nursing is of major importance to the profession for both practice and science. This paper describes a methodological approach which has been developed for the refinement and extension of the NANDA taxonomy in the Nursing Diagnosis Extension and Classification (NDEC) project. The paper proposes that this method could be used by nurses in all countries to facilitate the identification, development and validation of terms and labels which can be incorporated into each country's own emerging data systems, translated and cross mapped between systems, and eventually incorporated into international data sets.

Using The Brand Molecule Concept To Guide The Management And Marketing Of A Professional Sports Team, Alan Pomering, Dirk Melton, Gregory Kerr
Gregory Kerr
The sports industry is an important one; it is estimated to be the 11th largest industry in the United States. Within this industry, individual sports, at both the amateur and professional levels, compete for talented players, supporters, government funding, and sponsorship dollars. It is therefore important for sports to manage their sports brands. We use Lederer and Hill’s (2001) brand molecule concept to explain the brand management implications for a professional, national sports team, the Bulldogs, a Sydney-based team in Australia’s National Rugby League competition. The brand molecule highlights for the brand manager the positive and negative atoms that comprise …

Perception Of Communication Training Need Among Pediatric Trauma Team Members, Monica M. Mercado
Theses and Dissertations - UTB/UTPA
The purpose of this study is to use the APRC (Assessment of Pediatric Resuscitation Communication) as a guide to determine if trauma nurses and surgeons believe communication training is necessary. Many trauma team members have not received team communication effectiveness training in pediatric trauma settings. As a result, miscommunication between team members leads to medical errors during pediatric trauma activations. Thus, it is important to discover whether or not trauma team members believe communication training will help trauma teams improve the overall effectiveness of pediatric trauma activations. The present study provides a descriptive analysis that illustrates nurses’ and trauma surgeons’ …
