The Internet and electronic commerce have opened up new opportunities for efficiency in research administration. Public Law 106-107 or the Federal Financial Assistance Improvement Act signed on November 20, 1999 and the President's Management Agenda have formally charged federal grant-making agencies with creating a single electronic system to find and apply for federal grant opportunities. In response to this directive, recipient organizations will need the ability to electronically prepare and submit proposal information and receive funding data from the sponsoring agency. This professional project examines the growing focus on organizational evaluation and the use of assessment tools that contribute to organizational development and capacity-building. An extensive literature review addresses the background, framework and various approaches to organizational assessment. Three assessment tools reviewed in this project provided the basis for an organizational assessment of Teen Challenge of The Rocky Mountains. These tools along with interviews and an examination of records and organizational documents resulted in a wide spectrum of recommendations. The core recommendations address the need for sufficient and sustainable assets, deep and broad leadership, and a commitment to learning and self-reflection.

This thesis will help to define the best practices for implementing a CRM (Customer Resource Management) system in corporate enterprises. The notion that CRM is just an Information Technology Software Application is shortsighted. CRM is a more global design incorporating vendors, supply chains, enterprises, and customers. In presenting this dissertation, I follow proven and respected processes in order to set a foundation that is necessary for a structured research framework to identify best practices in CRM systems.

The Regis University Alumni and Parent Relations Department reaches out to generations of former students, and with University growth the challenge of this continually increases. Ways the Department can enhance support to graduates of the Rueckert-Hartman School for Health Professions (RHSHP) were explored through varied media. The action research included interviews, an alumni survey, consultation with sister Jesuit schools, and review of secondary literature specific to the topic of alumni associations and organizational change. The purpose of this action research project was to assess and understand the existing Personal Development Process at CU and identify and mitigate the causes of the confusion and variations in implementation of this tool. A collaborative group utilized questionnaires, focus groups, and a pilot process to diagnose the extent of the problem. The collaborative group with the help of the organization's employees designed and implemented interventions, and evaluated the project. The project results yielded an employee personal development tool which was used organization wide for 4 years.
