An Investigation Of The Interest For A Nurse Re-Entry Program In Southeastern Ohio, Marsha K. Rodgers

In the United States and throughout the world there is a serious concern in the growing nursing shortage. Many recruitment and retention techniques are currently being used to ease the nursing shortage. One such avenue is a nurse re-entry program. The primary purpose of this study was to determine the interest for a RN re-entry program in southeastern Ohio.

The data collected during the investigation used both qualitative and quantitative research techniques. Information was received through two survey questionnaires and two focus groups. The instruments were designed with the purpose of determining how many registered nurses were not working in …

The purpose of this article is to provide an historical context for involving the extended family in child welfare cases and to identify key factors influencing that involvement.

Two and three dimensional color image displays. The displays include a display medium having a substantially uniform dispersion of red, green and blue visible light emitting particles sized between approximately 0.5 to approximately 50 microns therethrough. The particles can be dye doped polymethylmethacrylate(pmma) plastic, and the display medium can be pmma, acrylic plastic or glass. Other particles can be used such as rare earth doped crystals. The two dimensional display uses three laser sources each having different wavelengths that direct light beams to each of three different types of particle in the display medium. We present the evolution of oceanographic conditions off the western coast of South America between 1996 and 1999, including the cold periods of 1996 and 1998-1999 and the 1997-1998 El Niño, using satellite observations of sea level, winds, sea surface temperature (SST), and chlorophyll concentration. Following a period of cold SST and low sea levels in 1996, both were anomalously high between March 1997 and May 1998. The anomalies were greatest between 5 degrees S and 15 degrees S, although they extended beyond 40 degrees S. Two distinct peaks in sea level and SST occurred in June-July 1997 and December …

Viscoelasticity From A Microscopic Model Of Dislocation Dynamics, M. Christina Marchetti, Karl Saunders

It is shown that the dynamics of a viscoelastic medium can be modeled as that of a two-dimensional crystal with a finite concentration of dislocations, as well as vacancy and interstitial defects. At the longest length scales the viscoelasticity is described by the simplest Maxwell model, whose shear and compressional relaxation times are obtained in terms of microscopic quantities, including the density of free dislocations. At short length scales, t bond orientational order effects become important and lead to wave vector dependent corrections to the relaxation times.

The present invention generally relates to a microcolumn capable of separating an analyte from a sample in the millisecond time domain. The microcolumn is capable of such rapid separation by employing small column volumes that can tolerate medium to high flow rates. The invention also relates to a method of loading a microcolumn capable of separating an analyte from a sample in the millisecond time domain using plural injections of the packing material.

Continuous measurement results of selected constituent concentrations in the gases emitted to the air during the coke wet quenching process were presented and discussed in the paper. The measurements were carried out for the standard wet quenching tower. The research covered such substances as carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide, nitrogen oxide, nitrogen dioxide and a total content of hydrocarbons and hydrogen (combustible gases). Changeability of the substance concentrations depending of the quenching process duration was analyzed. This paper reviews 115 articles and books published since 1971 that comprise almost all of the scholarly research on black farmers and land loss. It provides a general overview as well as discussion of the benefits of landownership for the black community. Several causes of black land and farm loss are reviewed: forced sales due to "heir property," lack of access to government programs, and continuing racial discrimination by lenders and government agencies. This research note describes two simultaneous events: the Martin County coal waste disaster of October 2000 and our own research efforts in Martin County, Kentucky, in studying the effects of the disaster on the impacted community. Our research was unique in that we involved a large team of undergraduate students in our field and data collections efforts. We also applied more democratic and participatory methods than has been typical in the "techno-disasters" research. We have performed a search for radiative b-hadron decays using events produced in pp̅ collisions at √s=1.8 TeV and collected by the Collider Detector at Fermilab. The decays we considered were B̅_d⁰→K^*0(→K^-π⁺) γ, B̅_s⁰→φ(→K⁺K^-) γ, Λ_b⁰→ Λ(→pπ^-) γ, and their charge conjugates. Two independent methods to identify photons from such decays were employed. The exclusive γE/_T signal has a small standard model cross section and is thus a channel sensitive to new physics. This signature is predicted by models with a superlight gravitino or with large extra spatial dimensions. We search for such signals at the Collider Detector at Fermilab, using 87   pb^-1 of data at √s=1.8   TeV, and extract 95% C.L. limits on these processes. A limit of 221 GeV is set on the scale |F|^1/2 in supersymmetric models. For 4, 6, and 8 extra dimensions, model-dependent limits on the fundamental mass scale M_D of 0.55, 0.58, and …

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran pelaksanaan pendidikan akhlak Islami dalam lingkungan keluarga, pendidikan akhlak Islami dalam lingkungan sekolah, pengaruh teman bermain serta pengaruh masing-masing terhadap pelaksanaan nilai-nilai akhlak Islami oleh para siswa Madrasah Aliyah Negeri I Kodya Mataram.

Populasi penelitian ini adalah para siswa Madrasah Aliyah Negeri I Kodya Mataram, dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 214 siswa. Pengambilan data menggunakan kuesioner dan pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik stratified random sampling. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskripuf dan analisis regresi.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami dan menganalisis gejala-gejala yang menentukan mobilitas penyandang tunanetra. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan ialah kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologis naturalistik dan desain studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan teknik pengamatan berperanserta, wawancara mendalam, dan analisis dokumen yang relevan dengan mobilitas para penyandang tunanetra. Temuan penelitian ini adalah: pada awal hidup mereka penyandang tunanetra sulit menerima kenyataan sebagai penyandang tunanetra; akhirnya para penyandang tunanetra dapat menemukan jati diri mereka. The restructuring of the animal agriculture industry in the United States, a response to globalization dynamics within the world economy, has created a new social risk profile which did not exist in this industry prior to the adoption of factory farm technology. Analysis of the CAFO [concentrated animal feeding operation] regulation debate in Kentucky illustrates the political economy genesis of social risk politics accompanying this new technology.
