Farm Price Programs, Kenneth L. Robinson Oct 1957

Farm Price Programs, Kenneth L. Robinson

Agricultural Experiment Station Agricultural Economics Pamphlets (1941-1991)

This publication should be useful to farmers and others who want to review the road that agricultural price policy in the United States has traveled in the past and to appraise the effect of such policies. It will also be useful to a person planning and taking part in discussions of farm price policy and programs at meetings of farmers and others interested in American agriculture. In a democracy, farmers and agricultural leaders may expect to be called upon more and more to express their views concerning matters of agricultural policy and national farm programs. The discussion is divided into …

Robert Mcalmon: Expatriate Publisher And Writer, Robert E. Knoll Aug 1957

Robert Mcalmon: Expatriate Publisher And Writer, Robert E. Knoll

University Studies (University of Nebraska): Papers

Though Robert MeAlmon has never received critical or popular acclaim, he deserves attention. An important expatriate in Paris in the Twenties, he was a writer, a publisher and a friend of the great and near-great who lived and worked there. He drank, talked, quarrelled with all of them; and we can understand them better for knowledge of him. McAlmon wrote a great deal, two short novels, four volumes of stories, four volumes of poems and a long autobiography. If these books do not earn him a place among the foremost novelists and poets of his time, they ought not be …

The Extent And Effects Of An Ecological Invasion, Mary E. Flannigan Jun 1957

The Extent And Effects Of An Ecological Invasion, Mary E. Flannigan

Student Work

America has a people who are "on the move." Modern transportation, communication, decentralization of industry, and crowding of cities have all encouraged a mobile population. In this mobility, all cities include within their boundaries definite characteristics of many neighborhoods. Sociologists by concensus of opinion define a neighborhood as an area with fairly well-defined boundaries, occupied by individuals or families living in close physical proximity. From a social-psychological point of view, the emphasis would be upon the attitudes of neighbors toward each other and of the emotional intensity of the interaction. The specific area selected as the basis for this study …
