Muhlenberg County Heritage Volume 13, Index, Kentucky Library Research Collections

Muhlenberg County Heritage

“The Muhlenberg County [Kentucky] Heritage” was published four times a year by the Muhlenberg County Genealogical Society in Greenville, Kentucky, from 1978 to 2001. The cover title sometimes appears as “The Heritage.” The publication’s purpose was to support the society and to publish information about the genealogy, culture, and history of Muhlenberg County. A separate annual index was printed each year for volumes 1-14. Afterwards, each issue was indexed separately. Generally, the index is to surnames only.

Collisional Redistribution Of Polarized Radiation For Sr-Ar(He) Systems: A Numerical Comparison Of The Semiclassical Decoupiing/Locking Model To Exact Results, Ronald James Bieniek, Paul S. Julienne, Rank Rebentrost Dec 1991

Collisional Redistribution Of Polarized Radiation For Sr-Ar(He) Systems: A Numerical Comparison Of The Semiclassical Decoupiing/Locking Model To Exact Results, Ronald James Bieniek, Paul S. Julienne, Rank Rebentrost

Physics Faculty Research & Creative Works

Abstract Semiclassical formulations of collisional redistribution of polarized radiation are presented at several levels of approximation, from full classical path coupled equations to the backing/decoupling model. These are numerically tested against the results of a quantum mechanical coupled-channels formalism, by the comparison of polarization curves in both spectral wings of the Srf1 So-1 Pi) transition, with Ar and He as collisional perturbers. It is found that the locking/decoupling model can often produce good agreement with exact results if the effects due to trajectories and multiple Condon points are treated properly. Significant discrepancies due to the Condon approximation used ty the …

Comparison Of Timing Jitter In External And Monolithic Cavity Mode-Locked Semiconductor Lasers, Dennis J. Derickson, P. A. Morton, J. E. Bowers, R. L. Thornton Dec 1991

Comparison Of Timing Jitter In External And Monolithic Cavity Mode-Locked Semiconductor Lasers, Dennis J. Derickson, P. A. Morton, J. E. Bowers, R. L. Thornton

Electrical Engineering

A comprehensive timing jitter comparison is made for mode-locked semiconductor lasers using active, passive, and hybrid mode-locking techniques in both external and monolithic cavity configurations. Active mode locking gives the lowest residual rms timing jitter of 65 fs (150 Hz-50 MHz), followed by the hybrid and passive mode-locking techniques. It is found that monolithic cavity devices with all active waveguides have higher timing jitter levels than the comparable external cavity case.
