The expansion of small-scale gold mining impacts environmental health and socioeconomic. Research in Bombana District, one of the gold mining centers in eastern Indonesia, was conducted to explore perceptions of the impact of small-scale gold mining on human health and attitudes towards environmental conservation activities related to small-scale gold mining activities. This research uses a quantitative approach with univariate tests to identify respondent characteristics, bivariate tests (Chi-square) to test relationships and frequency differences, and multivariate analysis (regression) to test the direction and magnitude of the relationship. The economic development of EU countries is limited due to limited access to a number of mineral raw materials, which necessitates actions aimed at securing the supply of CRM. For this reason, CRMs constitute elements of particular importance for the EU. The lignite resource has been under consideration for the subsurface cultivation and gasification (SCG) method to produce biomethane from lignite in Hokkaido, Japan. The primary phase of the method entails initiating the oxidative transformation of lignite using an H2O2 solution, resulting in the formation of dissolved organic carbon (DOC), a pivotal component. To examine the effects of induced oxidation on lignite's mechanical properties, artificial oxidation tests were conducted to form DOC. While there was a slight decrease in P-wave velocity and density, the uniaxial compression and indirect tensile strengths, as well as stiffness, did not decrease. These …

Nowadays, packaging waste is a prevalent issue due to the increase in deliveries from online shopping. In this research paper, a new approach to the issue of cardboard box packaging waste is proposed by selecting an optimal box that will contain both regular and irregular products while minimizing wasted volume. The method can be utilized so that packaging workers can select an appropriate, yet sustainable box. Introduction: Flights of general aviation aircraft in icing conditions pose safety hazards especially since few airplanes are equipped with ice protection systems (FIKI). Herein, we sought to answer the following questions not previously addressed: (i) Has the general aviation icing-related accident rate declined over time? (ii) Which phase(s) of flight lead(s) to the highest fraction of fatal accidents? (iii) Do general aviation pilots adhere to safe practices when operating in forecasted icing?

As research fields, mediatization and Human-Machine Communication (HMC) have distinct historical trajectories. While mediatization research is concerned with the fundamental interrelation between the transformation of media and communications and cultural and societal changes, the much younger field of HMC delves into human meaning-making in interactions with machines. This study examines the impacts of drainage infrastructure conditions on Mowe, Ogun State, residents. The study used a quantitative research design, using a systematic random sampling technique to select ten (10) residential estates (three public-owned and seven privately owned) in the study area. In all, 107 residents were sampled using a structured questionnaire. The data collected was analysed using descriptive statistics. This study explores the thermodynamic feasibility of selectively oxidizing iron contained in chalcopyrite mineral while preventing the oxidation of copper sulphide, with the ultimate goal of enhancing the copper concentration in the sulphide concentrate. A redox reaction in the solid phases between chalcopyrite and copper (I) oxide was constructed and subjected to thermodynamic analysis. The research identifies a crucial temperature range of 498-598 K (225-325 °C) as the most favourable for the redox reaction. The equilibrium constants at the selected optimal temperatures, 1.152 for chalcopyrite and 1.137 for copper (I) oxide, indicate that the redox reaction adheres to the expected …

The purpose of this work is the chemical modification of cotton fabrics with natural globular protein. Modification was carried out in the process of finishing cotton fabrics, after decoction and bleaching in a continuous mode. The effect of modification on the strength, protein content and functional groups of cotton fabric has been studied. According to the results obtained using the AUTOGRAPH AGS-N machine, it was found that the modification of cotton fabrics with a solution of globular protein increases the strength of the treated fabrics, depending on the concentration of the modifier and the temperature regime. The article analyses the ore-generating role of the focal structure during the formation of apogranitoid tungsten mineralization at the Yakhton deposit. The Yakhton ore field, within which apogranitoid tungsten mineralization has been identified, is confined to a deep focal structure, expressed by polychronic magmatism with a combination in the area of rocks of granitoid, lamprophyre and alkali-basaltoid complexes, as well as fluid-explosive breccias. This results in enhanced agricultural productivity.
