This poem is about an instance of sexual assault that occurred at my previous university. The aim of this poem was to express how sexual harassment is often overlooked until something drastic and devastating happens, as well as highlight that the legal process following the event can be unjust and cause more unnecessary pain for the victim.

This poem is an exploration of the aftermath of sexual assault and the myriad factors which determine how women, especially women of colour and Asian women, cope with that aftermath. I am particularly concerned with how the testimony and literature of Asian women can prompt other Asian women to unravel their own stories by reflecting these stories back to them and giving them a medium through which to have this confrontation. With this piece I attempt to communicate that the act of confronting and sharing trauma is a continuous and absolutely vital process for survivors of sexual assault.

This piece discusses my personal struggles with my weight as an plus-size woman by integrating the Lord's Prayer throughout the piece in a creatively bittersweet manner. Body image distortions continue to be all too common for countless young girls and women as they struggle with them, but also the growing prevalence of body shaming in our society.
