This study explored the influence of interdisciplinary teaming on high school teachers in a southwest urban high school. The influence of interdisciplinary teaming on teachers' feelings of isolation and collegiality was examined. The construction of teachers' knowledge and development of personal meaning for interdisciplinary teaming were also studied; Participants were four team teachers in three subject matter areas. The teaching experience of the teachers ranged from one year to thirty-two years. Two of the teachers had no prior experience teaching on an interdisciplinary team. A Study Of Gifted And Talented Educational Programs In Nevada Public School Districts, Thursenia Dehart-Porter

The purpose of this study was to investigate gifted and talented education programs in the 17 public school districts in the state of Nevada. A survey was conducted in two parts. The first section described the participants, delivery models, and staffing of programs for gifted and talented students. The second part, based on resource input methodology (RIM), gathered information on personnel and supply costs; All 17 districts responded. Eleven districts have programs for gifted and talented students; six do not. Only one district, Pershing County, reported no program, but it identified three students as gifted and talented and served them …

This paper argues that to maximize the utility of society, a legal system must precisely define and strictly enforce property rights; Chapter I provides a theoretical economic framework by which various policy and judicial decisions affecting property rights can be considered; Chapter II examines the proper role for a legal system as well as the historical and United States Constitutional respect for property rights. Secondly, the devolution of this earlier respect for property rights is discussed by examining case decisions which tolerate to a greater degree, force with respect to physical property. The Clark County School District has implemented the communication strand within the high school English curriculum. Its objectives and activities provide instructional guidelines for teacher use within the classroom situation. This study surveyed high school English teachers and found that the majority of teachers did little or nothing to incorporate speech in their curriculum. The principal reasons given were lack of time, lack of materials, and inadequate university preparation. The study also found newer teachers were more receptive to changes that would allow them to include speech in the curriculum than are veteran teachers; Most teachers support speech education but …
