An On-Chip Pvt Resilient Short Time Measurement Technique, Esrafil Jedari Sefidgari

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

As the CMOS technology nodes continue to shrink, the challenges of developing manufacturing tests for integrated circuits become more difficult to address. To detect parametric faults of new generation of integrated circuits such as 3D ICs, on-chip short-time intervals have to be accurately measured. The accuracy of an on-chip time measurement module is heavily affected by Process, supply Voltage, and Temperature (PVT) variations. This work presents a new on-chip time measurement scheme where the undesired effects of PVT variations are attenuated significantly. To overcome the effects of PVT variations on short-time measurement, phase locking methodology is utilized to implement a …

How Is Shame Resolved? An Experimental Study On The Roles Of Anger And Sadness, Tsubasa Sawashima Dec 2018

How Is Shame Resolved? An Experimental Study On The Roles Of Anger And Sadness, Tsubasa Sawashima

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

Introduction: The aim of the current study was to explore emotional sequences involved in resolving shame, with a primary focus on comparing the effects of facilitating anger vs. facilitating sadness in the context of shame activation. The main hypothesis posited that facilitating anger, as opposed to sadness, would better promote emotional recovery from shame. This was inspired by an emerging line of research suggesting that facilitating an emotion that is incongruent (e.g., anger), as opposed to congruent (e.g., sadness), in its action tendency with the emotional distress presenting (e.g., shame) might better promote emotional outcome. Method: A randomized experimental design …

The purpose of this study was to examine relationships between the dimensions …

The Rhetoric Of Missions Reporting, Bailey Cate Dec 2018

The Rhetoric Of Missions Reporting, Bailey Cate

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

Missions, especially short-term trips, are becoming more and more controversial. As short-term missionaries interact in the field, they take pictures depicting the poverty, lack of resources, and overall sense of destitution around them. These photos have helped generate income, as many Christians who see the photos as part of updates on mission work they supported come to see themselves in a position of “savior” because they have resources to give to “those in need.” Evangelism is a critical component of Christianity; however, how people evangelize and how they communicate about that evangelism is equally critical. By analyzing both the church …

Climatic Range Filling Of North American Trees, Benjamin Seliger Dec 2018

Climatic Range Filling Of North American Trees, Benjamin Seliger

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

Understanding the degree to which species distributions are controlled by climate is crucial for forecasting biodiversity responses to climate change. Climatic equilibrium, when species are found in all places which are climatically suitable, is a fundamental assumption of species distribution models, but there is evidence in support of climate disequilibria in species ranges. Long-lived, sessile organisms such as trees may be especially vulnerable to being outpaced by climate change, and thus prone to disequilibrium. In this dissertation, I tested the degree to which North American trees are in equilibrium with their potential climatic ranges using the ‘range filling’ metric, which …

Relativistic Corrections To Nonrelativistic Electric Dipole Transitions, Daniel Venn Dec 2018

Relativistic Corrections To Nonrelativistic Electric Dipole Transitions, Daniel Venn

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

Radiative transition probabilities for light atoms and ions are normally calculated from nonrelativistic wave functions and the electric dipole transition operator. For the nonrelativistic energies, the theory of relativistic corrections is well established in terms of the Breit interaction, but the same is not true for relativistic corrections to transition probabilities. The main focus of this work to perform high precision variational calculations for the relativistic corrections for the case of allowed electric dipole transitions, and to compare with known results for the one-electron case. The calculation involves the use of perturbation theory, using pseudostates to sum over the complete …
