Moving Toward Reconciliation, Paula Boronell
Moving Toward Reconciliation, Paula Boronell
Theses
My thesis concept had originally been concerned with gender role playing and the effect this role playing has on the individual. As the work progressed, however, my original concept slowly evolved into something more personal. "Moving Towards Reconciliation" was really about resolving my own questions, and being reconciled with the answers I found. This thesis report describes the route which took me from abstract concept to a personal reconciliation.

The Effect Of Image Content On Color Difference Perceptibility, Susan Farnand
The Effect Of Image Content On Color Difference Perceptibility, Susan Farnand
Theses
Considerable work has been conducted regarding the perceptibility of color differences for simple images such as uniform color patches. From this work comes such tools as the MacAdam ellipses. Less is known regarding color difference perceptibility when complex images are involved. However, the proliferation of desktop publishing equipment and the increasingly technically elegant accompanying software makes questions around this topic both more facile and more relevant to study. The information that could be gleaned may be useful for the design of color printer algorithms or other imaging systems. The objective of this research was to examine the impact of image …

The Identification Of Work-Environment Factors Effecting Dysfunctional Employee Turnover At A Resort Property: A Case Study, Christopher Menna
The Identification Of Work-Environment Factors Effecting Dysfunctional Employee Turnover At A Resort Property: A Case Study, Christopher Menna
Theses
The purpose of this study is to identify a list of work-environment factors present at a resort property that participant employees feel effect employee turnover, and consequently interfere with good customer service. This was accomplished through extensive in-depth interviews conducted with 28 systematically selected employees from all departments of the property studied. The interview schedule utilized was primarily unstructured to provide the respondents with the greatest latitude in expressing their impressions. The results of the interviews revealed specific patterns of responses relating only to the various departments of the participants. The results also revealed two general patterns of responses present …
A Decision Making Environment The Healthcare Industry, Terry Ovenshire
A Decision Making Environment The Healthcare Industry, Terry Ovenshire
Theses
This was a pilot study on the decision making environments in the health care industry. A critical incident questionnaire which was developed by Boone & Kilmann (1988) and later used by Janet Barnard (1992) in her research "Decision Environments of Small Firms" was adapted. The questionnaires were sent to 201 employees at the facility in the first sampling. A response of almost 50% was received, but the food service department was only represented by 3 respondents. It was decided that a second sampling would be sent to that department to assure a large enough set of respondents to use as …

The Effects Of Gender, National Origin, Purpose Of Travel, Length Of Stay And Seasonality On Guest's Satisfaction Levels, Brenda Cruz Valentin
Theses
This study focuses on identifying the effects of customer's gender, national origin, purpose of travel, length of stay, and seasonality on their perception of service at an international hotel in the Caribbean.
Assessing customer's expectations through collection and analysis of comment cards are critical to assure a high quality delivery of service. Therefore, the problem is that statistical analysis and effective use of customer comment cards, which are designed to identify potential complaining patterns in order to improve service for an international hotel, does not occur.
This study involved an analysis of a sample of 57.2% out of a total …
