Evaluation Of Color Difference And Translucency Of Modified Peek Restorations Veneered With Different Veneering Materials Before And After Thermal Cycling, Mohamed Hamdy Abdulmaguied, Tarek Salah Morsi, Mennatallah M. Wahba, Hesham Katamish

Future Dental Journal

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of different PEEK veneering materials, as well as thermocycling on the color difference (ΔE) and the translucency parameter (TP) of modified PEEK veneered restorations.

Materials and Methods: Thirty disc shaped specimens of veneered BioHPP (1.5 mm X 12 mm) were randomly divided into three groups (n=10) based on the type of the veneering material. Group (A): Discs veneered with CAD milled Lithium Disilicate, group (B): Discs veneered with pre-cured milled composite, and group (C): Discs veneered with conventional light cured composite. CIELab values were calculated for all specimens over …

Evaluation Of Colour Reproduction Of Cad/Cam Lithuim-Disilicate Veneers Of Different Thicknesses And Translucency, Sahar H. Fikry, Tarek Salah Morsi, Mennatallah M. Wahba, Amr El-Etreby Jun 2022

Evaluation Of Colour Reproduction Of Cad/Cam Lithuim-Disilicate Veneers Of Different Thicknesses And Translucency, Sahar H. Fikry, Tarek Salah Morsi, Mennatallah M. Wahba, Amr El-Etreby

Future Dental Journal

Background: With the increasing patients’ demand for a perfect smile, the call for highly aesthetic and yet minimally invasive veneers has surmounted. Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the colour of CAD/CAM lithium disilicate veneers fabricated in different thicknesses and different translucencies of the lithium disilicate blocks. Materials and Methods: Forty discs of lithium disilicate glass-ceramic (IPS e.max CAD) of shade A1 of both high and low translucency (HT, LT) were tested for their colour reproduction. HT and low LT blocks were cut in the form of plates of dimensions (12 x 14 mm) and of different …

Aim of the study: This study was carried out to evaluate the effect of various sintering protocols on the translucency of highly translucent cubic zirconia. Materials and methods: A total of forty discs of two types of zirconia ceramics were used in this study. The specimens were divided into two main groups according to the type of zirconia; Group 1 (n=20): Cubic zirconia (DD Cube X2 98color) and Group 2 (n=20): Tetragonal zirconia (BioZX2color). Each group was subdivided into two subgroups, where 10 discs were per subgroup according to the sintering protocol. Cubic and tetragonal zirconia blanks of dimensions (98 …

Effect Of Thickness On Translucency And Masking Ability Of A Recently Developed Single-Shade Resin Composite With Enhanced Opacity: An In Vitro Comparative Study, Sayed Mohamed Ghorab, Hagag Abd Elkader Atya Mar 2022

Effect Of Thickness On Translucency And Masking Ability Of A Recently Developed Single-Shade Resin Composite With Enhanced Opacity: An In Vitro Comparative Study, Sayed Mohamed Ghorab, Hagag Abd Elkader Atya

Future Dental Journal

ABSTRACT

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of thickness changes on translucency and masking ability of a recently developed single shade resin composite material with enhanced opacity comparing it with a traditional opaque-shade one.

Material and methods: Two brands of composite resins; Omnichroma blocker (OCB) and G-aenial Anterior (GA) in opaque A2 (OA2) shade were selected to enroll the study. Color coordinates of each composite were determined at 0.5, 1, and 1.5 mm thicknesses (n=10/thickness) on four different backgrounds (white baking, black baking, C4 shade porcelain baking and the backing of material itself) by using a …

Purpose: To compare the translucency of 6 different types of ceramic material using three different thicknesses. Materials and methods: Square shaped specimens were cut from different types of ceramics with variable translucencies (e.max CAD HT, e.max CAD LT, ultra-translucency zirconia, top-translucency zirconia, supertranslucency zirconia and high-translucency zirconia). Total samples of 144 specimens were divided into 6 main groups according to material; each group was divided into 3 subgroups according to thickness used (0.4, 0.6 and 1 mm). Using spectrophotometer each specimen was tested three times against white and black background and the average was taken to calculate translucency parameter (TP). …

Effect Of Veneering Techniques And Subsequent Aging On Translucency Of Bilayered Zirconia, Mohamed El-Agwany, Marwa Mohamed Wahsh, Tarek Salah Morsi

Future Dental Journal

Purpose: this study compared the translucency of zirconia specimens veneered with different veneering techniques, and compared the change in translucency after aging. Materials and methods: Fifty slice specimens (0.50 ± 0.01mm thick) were fabricated of IPS e.maxZirCAD core material, and ZL1 IPS e.maxZirLiner (0.10-mm thick) was layered. The specimens were randomly divided into five groups (n=10/group). Group Ι (traditional layering technique) was veneered (0.60 mm) by condensing and sintering IPS e.max Ceram low-fusing nano-fluorapatite veneering porcelain; Group ΙΙ (High translucency press on technique) was veneered (0.60 mm) by heat-pressing HT IPS e.maxZirPressfluorapatite glass-ceramic ingots; Group ΙΙΙ (Low translucency press on …
