Enhanced Adsorption Of Anionic Dyes Using Sr-Doped Zno Nanoparticles: Nonlinear Kinetics And Isotherm Studies, Mostafa H. Mohamed, Taha M. Elmorsi, H. M. Abdelbary

Al-Azhar Bulletin of Science

Using a co-precipitation process, sr-doped ZnO was prepared and demonstrated to be effective in the removal of anionic congo red dye, since its surface positive charge was increased to 17.3 mV. To investigate the surface morphology and physicochemical characteristics of Sr-doped ZnO, FTIR spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), elemental analysis, and point of zero charges (pHPZC) were employed. We conducted batch adsorption experiments to investigate the effects of contact time (180 minutes), pH (3.5–11), adsorbent dosage (0.5–3.0 g L−1), and temperature (288–328 K). The kinetic study was modeled using several equations, including pseudo-firstorder (PFO), pseudo-second-order (PSO), Elovich, and intra-particle diffusion …

Heavy Metal And Fluoride Ions Removal From Wastewater Using Moringa Seed Beads, Khalid Khader, Rabie Farag, Moustafa Abo-Elfadl, Mohamed Ali

Al-Azhar Bulletin of Science

Water contamination by heavy metals has harmful and hazardous health consequences for humans. The goal of this study is to see how effective Moringa seeds beads (MOSB) mixed with sodium alginate are at adsorbing ions like copper, nickel, manganese, lead and fluoride from polluted water. Different instrumental approaches were used to characterize the adsorbent (FT-IR and SEM).. Batch adsorption studies and the effects of the adsorption parameters were optimized. The results revealed that the removal rate for each element occurred at the optimum dose (5g/l) with removal efficiency (93, 72, 80, 96, and 93 %) and the maximum sorption capacity …

Contribution Of Organic Compost And Bacterial Inoculation In Improving Quality Of Quinoa Seeds, Abeer Mousa, Rabab Ibrahim, Yehia Galal

Al-Azhar Bulletin of Science

Biofertilizers and organic compost are a important source of plant supplements during the plant development. Compost was used to pots under greenhouse condition with the application doses of 0, 50, 100, and 200 kg ha−1 on the basis of its nitrogen content. Bacterial strains of Azotobacter chroococcum (a symbiotic nitrogen fixer) and Bacillus polymyxa as plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) were applied as biofertilizers. Pot test was done to quality the role of organic compost in combination with bacterial inoculation. In general, organic compost and biofertilizers improved growth and seed quality of quinoa. Then again, the collaboration between bacterial inoculation and …

Optical Characterization Of Stabilized Atmospheric Pressure Pin To Plate Plasma Source, Ahmed Abdelradi, Ahmed Samir, Farouk Elakshar, Abdou Garamoon, Mansour Elsabagh

Al-Azhar Bulletin of Science

DC Stabilized Discharges (DCSD) was generated in atmospheric pressure argon for a pin to plate. In this paper, discharge with a flowing argon gas into the air (plasma Source) is investigated by optical emission spectroscopy technique. The emission spectra of excited species of atomic-hydrogen, N2 and Ar were observed and measured. The rotational and vibrational temperatures of the discharge were measured by comparing modelled optical emission spectra with masured spectra from the discharge by using several different vibrational bands of the 2nd positive system (SPS) of N2 ( N2[C 3Πu] → N2[B 3Πg]). The optical characteristics of the discharge shown …

Synthesis, Structural Characterization, And Catalytic Reduction Study Of Co(Ii) Complex Towards Toxic Organic Compounds; Nitrophenol, And Nitroaniline, Aml Saleh, Abeer Faheim, Omayma Mostafa, Zeinab Abdelwahab, Aida Salman

Al-Azhar Bulletin of Science

This work demonstrates the synthesis of Co(II) complex of a new imine ligand incorporated sulfonamide, and coumarin moiety. The ligand and its complex were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1HNMR, mass, UV-Vis spectroscopy, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA-DTG). According to the spectral analysis, the ligand, HL acts as a multidente donor coordinating through NONO donor sites. The Co(II) complex has tetrahedral geometry, and non-electrolytic in nature. The thermodynamic parameters as activation energy, enthalpy of activation, entropy of activation, and free energy of activation were determined via the thermal analysis. Furthermore, the ability of Co(II) complex as …

Modeling Of The Dynamics Adsorption Of Some Hazardous Elements From Aqueous Solution Onto Bentonite-Calcium-Alginate Beads, Riham Abou-Lilah, Nagwa Badway, Azza Gamal, Hoda Rizk, Amal Ali, Mostafa Elshorbagy Oct 2021

Modeling Of The Dynamics Adsorption Of Some Hazardous Elements From Aqueous Solution Onto Bentonite-Calcium-Alginate Beads, Riham Abou-Lilah, Nagwa Badway, Azza Gamal, Hoda Rizk, Amal Ali, Mostafa Elshorbagy

Al-Azhar Bulletin of Science

Encapsulation of bentonite-Ca-alginate was employed for discharge of Cs+, Sr2+, UO22+ and Co2+ from aquatic solution. Preferable pH for elimination of these ions was 5.5. For radiation stability, bentonite-Ca-alginate was investigated; a 60Co source was used to expose it to gamma radiation. Data obtained from (FT-IR) assessed radiation-induced effect on a stability of bentonite-Ca-alginate. Irradiated samples untill 100 kGy do not impair an absorption of an ions examined. In a column application, bentonite-Ca-alginate composite beads were examined for the discharge of these ions from multicomponent solution using fixed-bed column. Effect on column output of various parameters, like bed height, flow …

Al-Azhar Bulletin of Science

In this study, Acrylamide-co-3-Allyloxy-2-hydroxy-1-propanesulfonic acid sodium salt/ montmorillonite [(AAm-co-AHPS)/MMT)] hydrogel composite was synthesis via in situ free-radical copolymerization. The swelling properties and adsorption efficiency of MB were studied. Effect of AHPS ratio on the properties of hydrogel composite was investigated at different AAm/AHPS molar ratio of 100/0, 95/5, 90/10, 85/15, and 80/20. The highest swelling ratio (49.71 g/g) was observed for the composite containing 15% AHPS. The hydrogel composites were characterized using FTIR, TGA, XRD, and SEM. The effects of contact time, dye concentration, pH, adsorbent dose, and temperature on the adsorption capacity of MB were studied. Additionally, the reusability …
