Collective Memory And Creative Subjectivity: A Living Conversation, Alexandra Katherine Goodall, Alba Torres Robinat
Artizein: Arts and Teaching Journal
This article is the record of a dialogue between two artists and Expressive Arts therapists, Alba Torres Robinat and Alexandra Katherine Goodall. They chose to undertake this conversation in the form of letters that were written back-and-forth over a period of time in a shared document, which places their correspondence in the tradition of epistolary writing. This decision to write the article as letters lends the conversation an immediacy, a warmth, a sense of time, distance and familiarity, and a feeling of intimacy.
The authors invite readers to witness the deepening of a relationship and the development of their conversational …

Persepsi Remaja Indonesia Terhadap Kebijakan Efisiensi Energi Listrik, Arius Krypton Onarelly
Jurnal Sosial Humaniora Terapan
Indonesia, rich in natural resources, is also a significant energy contributor to the global economy. However, despite having large fossil fuel reserves, Indonesia has topped the ranking of oil importers for the last 20 years. Indonesia is facing the Energy Trilemma. The first point is energy security. A condition when a country has a stable and adequate energy supply at a reasonable price for the short and long term. Energy poverty is the second aspect of the Indonesian Energy Trilemma and this is still common in Indonesia, especially outside Java and Bali. Even though in 2020 the Indonesian government has …

The Qualitative Report
The collaborative use of technology and online teaching and learning is a new pedagogical trend following the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. This pedagogy has created flexible learning modes for teachers and students to practice and develop their speaking skills in English as a foreign language through collaborative activities, interactive group projects, and peer feedback. Despite the plethora of studies pertinent to online learning, online collaborative learning (OCL) insights in rural areas are not well-documented, leaving knowledge gaps. Thus, a study of teachers' and students' perceptions of OCL in rural areas of Papua, Indonesia, is needed. Researchers have …

Perception Of Nuclear Security As A Barrier To Female Representation In Africa, Primerose Ruhukwa Ms
International Journal of Nuclear Security
Women are strongly underrepresented in the nuclear energy sector, particularly in the field of Nuclear security. Regardless of several government efforts to increase the number of women in this field, which include gender balance polices, education, and awareness campaigns, the nuclear security industry remains a male-dominated field. The reason why nuclear security is shunned by most women in Africa is because of an incorrect perception of what nuclear security is. When a lay person hears the term nuclear, the first thing that comes to mind is nuclear weapons, and many are quick to judge, saying that Africa does not …

Landmarks: “Throwing Like A Girl: A Phenomenology Of Feminine Body Comportment, Motility, And Spatiality” And A Room Of One's Own Applied, Grace Benson
Crossings: Swarthmore Undergraduate Feminist Research Journal
This essay seeks to understand the author’s relationship to her body through theoretical feminist texts. It uses Iris Marion Young’s “Throwing Like a Girl: A Phenomenology of Feminine Body Comportment, Motility, and Spatiality,” Virginia Woolf’s A Room of One’s Own, and the author’s own life to examine the relationship between perception, queerness, and self-confidence. The account put forward here applies Young’s discussion of feminine bodily comportment and spatiality to the author’s experiences learning to fight and subsequently accept her own body. Tying Young’s comparison of the body to feminine existence to Woolf’s discussion of a room of one’s own, …

Crossing Boundaries: Autoethnography Of Subjective Experiences During Meditation, Anna-Katharina Kothe, Stefanie Vochatzer, Christian Oesterle, Steffen Philipp Ruf
The Qualitative Report
In this autoethnographic quadrologue, the authors aim to show how meditation experiences defy verbalization in a qualitative research setting. This leads to the insight that an autoethnographic approach may be a much better fit for such an experience, where complex and inexpressible things can be found. This is especially the case since autoethnographic texts include and immerse the reader in the experience. Even though in the case of meditation this can hardly be achieved, this quadrologue aims at conveying some of the struggles and peculiarities of meditation practice. It focuses on the research process leading to the decision to employ …

Living Inside A Bubble: Power, Influence, And Perceptual Filtering In Entrepreneurial Leaders, Randall M. Croom
Living Inside A Bubble: Power, Influence, And Perceptual Filtering In Entrepreneurial Leaders, Randall M. Croom
Journal of Business & Entrepreneurship
Some entrepreneurs engage in activities, make decisions, and make statements that significantly harm the companies they founded. This gives rise to a perplexing question: why do people who worked so hard to build a business sometimes act in ways that deeply harm all they worked for? This brief conceptual paper theorizes that entrepreneurs' decision errors may be rooted in perceptual errors that arise from the fact that some entrepreneurs live in separate, hyperlocalized realities. While all people are subject to making errors in perception, I theorize that entrepreneurs are particularly susceptible because of their exceptional power and influence in the …
