A Qualitative Comparison Case Study Evaluation Of The Emotional Intelligence Of College Health Care Business Students, Cheryl Nutter

CUP Ed.D. Dissertations

Health care is undergoing significant transition in practice models, payment structures, and assessment strategies requiring health care leaders to adapt to support transition and lead change (Larkin, 2015; Miles, 2017). There is speculation that current health leaders lack the necessary awareness to connect the patient’s needs with critical business decisions (Quy, 2017). If this ability is lacking in current employees, academic institutions should evaluate college students to determine if there is a gap in knowledge that can be identified. Using emotional intelligence (EI) as the conceptual framework, this study aims to evaluate EI in college health care management (HCM) business …

Implications Of Audit Office Resource Allocation Shocks: Evidence From Late 10-K Filings, Stuart Dearden Aug 2018

Implications Of Audit Office Resource Allocation Shocks: Evidence From Late 10-K Filings, Stuart Dearden

Graduate Theses and Dissertations

Prior literature examines consequences (e.g., negative market reactions, higher subsequent audit fees, and debt covenant violations) audit clients face arising from missed regulatory due dates. These clients likely pressure the auditor to provide additional resources to perform the audit. This paper examines whether an audit office resource allocation shock stemming from late-filing clients is associated with the audit quality of the other timely-filing clients in that audit office. I find that timely-filing clients are more likely to subsequently restate their financial statements when there are late-filing clients in the same audit office. Using audit fees as a proxy for auditor …

Paqueterias, small international shipping businesses, literally bring New York City its vibrant flavor. In any given neighborhood, if you are an immigrant, there is someone who will carry a backpack of school supplies to your kids in Ecuador, carry your old bedroom set to your parents in Colombia, or carefully deliver a little …

Marching On Together: The Future Of Non-Profit Museums In A For-Profit World, Matthew R. Dellaguzzo

Seton Hall University Dissertations and Theses (ETDs)

This thesis proposes a model of increased collaboration among museums as an alternative to the commercialization of the museum field. Through a combination of internal and external factors, museums are finding it necessary to operate in a manner akin to that of commercial enterprises. This trend threatens to undermine the cultural and educational mission of museums. At the same time, the ability of museums to carry out their missions necessarily depends on a solid financial base. Collaboration, whether in the form of consortia or consolidated institutions, provides an avenue whereby museums can not only make more economical use of their …
