Kentucky Transportation Center Research Report

The purpose of this study was to design a traffic data inventory system and to develop operating procedures for that system. This report outlines the general design of such a system that will be called STOLVAC (acronym for Speed, Turning movements, Origin destination, Loadometer, Volume, Accident, and Classification data). The report also presents recommendations relating to the development and maintenance of STOLVAC. Staging of the system development is recommended.

Historical Research Bulletins of the Nebraska Agricultural Experiment Station

It is the object of this paper to present a method for classifying and evaluating the soils as mapped in regular soil surveys on the basis of land types, which are here defined as areas having reasonably similar productivity and use suitabilities. The standards used to differentiate land types will vary according to the desired objectives, but any material difference in yield, or in practices necessary to maintain a desirable level of productivity will justify recognition of land types. The following classification for forestry literature has been prepared by the Faculty of the Yale Forest School for use in its library. It is published to supply the demand for a simple and comprehensive classification that is adapted to any library system. The work was begun about one year ago and included a study of all available data on the subject. A tentative outline was submitted to prominent members of the profession from whom helpful suggestions were received.
