Politics and religion have united and/or divided people groups for as long as records have been kept. Currently most of the divisiveness tormenting America’s potential for harmony is in these two fields. The debates have many fronts and factions. Recipients Of Major Scientific Awards A Descriptive And Predictive Analysis, Andrew Barbee

Helm's School of Government Conference - American Revival: Citizenship & Virtue

As a society, we desire, defend, and argue for equity in any and all areas. Sometimes the law attempts to mandate equity and provide some boundaries. Yet how does the law govern the thoughts, intentions, and actions of the heart? Thus, we need to broaden our understanding of equity. Equity is not an educational issue, nor is it a physiological issue; rather equity is a spiritual issue.

Evidence-Based Practice (Ebp), Means-End Reasoning And Goal Directed Theories, Tone Kvernbekk

OSSA Conference Archive

Means-end reasoning – deliberations concerning what to do to attain a goal – is at the heart of EBP and practical pedagogy in general, but beset by many misunderstandings. In this paper I discuss the form of means-end reasoning involved in EBP. I bring out its basic features by first comparing it to David Hitchcock’s complex means-end scheme and then to the notion of goal-directed theories. Which approach, if any, best accommodates the means-end reasoning of EBP?
