This study established the extent to which the state statutes of all 50 states provided for a legal description of the constitutional rights of students and the disciplinary process; The study was descriptive in nature and provided for a systematic analysis of statutory enactment in the area of student rights and the disciplinary process; From an analysis of the local Clark County School District Rules and Regulations on student rights and the disciplinary process, the study progressed to an analysis of the statutes of all 50 states to determine if statutory language contained in the codes conformed to the decisions …

Because of current prevailing educational and negative financial trends, a concern for the place of the fine arts in the curricula of the nation's public schools has been evidenced among various writers and curriculum experts. Music, visual arts, drama, and dance classes were being indiscriminately eliminated from educational instructional programs throughout the country. Remedial courses were taking the place of electives. Fine arts educators, among others, were also being assigned to teach in areas outside their major subject expertise. Purpose. The purpose of this study was to determine whether or not a relationship existed between the cursive handwriting ability and spelling competency of college freshmen and to determine whether a significant difference existed in the handwriting ability, and spelling competency, between male and female college freshmen; Subjects. Subjects were eighteen and nineteen year old students enrolled in six representative sections of English 101 at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, during the 1981-82 Fall Semester. Eighty-eight subjects participated in the study--forty-eight females and forty males; Procedures; Hypotheses. The hypotheses stated that there was no relationship between the handwriting ability …
