In this thesis, a survey design was used following closely the objective of descriptive research. The idea was to take a sample of the population of teachers in the area, gather demographic data, and find out if the reasons they fail to fully integrate technology into their classrooms can be attributed to skill deficiency, motivation, lack of environmental support or a combination thereof.

A Research Study On Emotional Adjustment Of A Spouse Following Stroke, John P. Vlasic Ii

This research project focuses on age as a predictor in the emotional adjustment of a spouse following his/her partner's stroke. The medical records of 80 stroke cases were reviewed at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, Fontana, California. Patients and spouses were examined in two age groupings, age 55 and below, and ages 56 and above. Study of these two age groups afforded the most meaningful division to study spouse adjustment.

An Exploration Of The Effects Of Sexual Abuse On Foster Children's Social Development As Measured By Attachment Constructs, Ellen Marie Jamieson

This study explored the relationship between child sexual abuse and its impact on foster children's social development as measured by attachment constructs. The study addressed issues relating to direct practice with children who have been sexually abused and are receiving services in the foster care system. The study used a positivist paradigm with a quasi-experimental approach and a qualitative component, and surveyed foster parents' perceptions of their foster child's attachment.

The present study investigates whether individuals who are trained in groups will benefit from a more enhanced facilitation of the information than those trained in a more traditional, individualistic, classroom setting. Participants who learn in a cooperative, group setting are expected to exhibit better performance on a subsequent knowledge test than participants who learn individually.

This project describes a four-year teacher education program conducted at the Living Desert, a botanical and wildlife park located in Palm Desert, California. The program brought 12 classroom teachers and 3 zoological educators together to expand their understanding and practice of environmental education. This project concentrates on how the program affected my educational philosophy, strategy and practice as an educator at The Living Desert, and how it shifted the focus of our department's docent (volunteer guide) education in general.

Reading Recovery is a relatively new program in California as it was only introduced in 1991-1992 school year. Its growth in the last four years has been gratifying, but still there are many who do not know what Reading Recovery is and how it is different from the other programs that have been used to help children who are at risk.
