This study investigated the practices of peacebuilding among Dassanech, Nyangatom, Hammer community of Ethiopia and the Turkana of Kenya cross-border resource based conflicts. Peace is the most important need and value of the pastoral community and conflict is destructive and unimportant by them. To build peace various actors are participated and different approaches are used. The study founded that the role of state, inter-state diplomacy, non-state actors, the civil society organizations, international organizations, intergovernmental organizations and indigenous community based institutions takes the loin share of conflict management, prevention, resolution and peacebuilding. Abstract

The purpose of this article is to investigate peace and security challenges in Mozambique. The paper wants to contribute to research recurrent political conflicts should be evaluated and how their effectiveness can be measured on how peace-making interventions by the Southern Africa Development Committee (SADC) in member states experiencing. Peace-making is understood as a varied approach to resolving conflicts, encompassing negotiation, diplomatic engagement, and mediation. As the people in northern Uganda begin to rebuild their lives after the devastating war that lasted more than twenty years, reconciliation and community restoration becomes paramount. Forgiveness of wrongs committed and past hurts is an important vehicle to achieve reconciliation and co-existence in a society that is wrought with past social upheavals, fragile relationships and painful memories. The African continent has borne the brunt of inter-ethnic and intra-ethnic conflicts. Consequently, there are many efforts aimed at rebuilding societies torn apart by conflicts in the African continent. This paper posits that non-state actors play great roles in fostering grassroots peace initiatives. This study examines the role of non-state actors in promoting peacebuilding among women in Mount Elgon region in Kenya following the aftermath of the 2006-2008 intra-ethnic conflict between the Soy and Ndorobo[1] clans of the Sabaot community.
