A Comparison Of Two Methods Of Teaching Selected Aspects Of English Grammar, Florence Ruth Katanick Marshall

It is the purpose of this study to compare two methods of teaching selected aspects of English grammar--grammatical definitions reinforced by exercises and the diagramming of sentences and grammatical definitions as the basis of teaching composition--to ascertain whether or not one will produce better results than the other on a standardized grammar test, when used with two groups of paired ninth-graders matched according to age, sex, intelligence, and reading ability.

It was the purpose of this study to compare the responses of a group of stutterers on the Rosenzweig Picture-Frustration Study with the norms established for that study to determine whether, as a group, they show any significant differences in (1) the direction of aggression, and (2) the type of reaction to frustration.

The rapid growth of high schools within the past thirty years, and the changes in the methods of teaching, have made the library and important phase of any well-equipped high school. The capacity for service varies greatly in the different states. Some states have provided adequate equipment and staffs; others have given the bare necessities.
The purpose of this present study is: (1) to determine the facilities of high school libraries in New Mexico; (2) to ascertain the training and qualifications of the personnel; and (3) to compare the results with standards and recommendations made by library and educational associations.

The first high schools in America and in New Mexico were conducted by the churches. These high schools were pioneers in educational thought and progress until recent years. Public High schools have made much progress in New Mexico the last quarter of a century.
