The population density and growth of the cockle Anadara antiquata L. Pelecypoda in Pisang River bay area Padang city, west Sumatera. The research has been done from March to December in 2004. The cockles A. antiquata were collected with systimatic stratified method. The cockle A. antiquata colletion site were divided three strata. The each strata were divided three station based on the water depth. Results of the research showed that the higest density of the cockle A. antiquata was found at station 1 strata III (1.8 ind./m2) and the lowest density at the station 3 strata I (0.9 ind./m2). The …

Effect Of Mixed Solvents Consisting Of Water And Organic Solvent On Preparation Of Medium-Responsive Grafted Cellulose Film By Means Of Photografting, Irwan Ginting Suka

Cellulose having a medium-responsive function were synthesized by photografting of methacrylic acid (MAA) on regenerated cellulose film (thickness = 20 µm) at 60°C using mixed solvent consisting of water and organic solvents such as acetone and methanol. Xanthone was used as photoinitiator by coating on the film surfaces. A maximum percentage of grafting was observed at a certain concentration of organic solvent. MAA-grafted cellulose films produced showing homogeneous distribution of grafted chains, which was examined by scanning electron microscopy. The modified films also exhibit medium responsive character, it shrinks in acidic and swells in basic solution. Moreover, the grafted film …

The main objective of this research was to study the marine bacteriology of the coast of North Sulawesi. The study was accomplished by calculating the abundance of coliform, heterotrophic, and pathogenic bacteria, and analyzing the coexistence relationship between bacteria and phytoplanktons. This research, which included the sampling and laboratory works, has been carried out on 25 – 28 October, 2000. The results suggested that the abundance of each bacteria was as follows: coliform bacteria range between 227-5940 cfu/100 ml with averages 1814.1 cfu/100 ml, found in all stations; heterotrophic bacteria range between (1-82) x 103 cfu/ml with averages 12.1 x …

Bio gasoline conversion from palm oil is an alternative energy resources method which can be substituted fossil fuel base energy utilization. Previous research resulted that palm oil can be converted into hydrocarbon by catalytic cracking reaction with γ-alumina catalyst. Segmental Sinusoidal Model for Speech Signal Coding. Periodic signal can be decomposed by sinusoidal component with Fourier series. With this characteristic, it can be modeled referring by sinusoidal form. By the sinusoidal model, signal can be quantized in order to encode the speech signal at the lower rate. The recent sinusoidal method is implemented in speech coding. By using this method, a block of the speech signal with 20 ms to 30 ms width is coded based on Fourier series coefficients. A study in microcosmic condition has been carried out to evaluate the bacterial hydrocarbonoclastic capability in increasing the oil sludge degradation being mixed with NPK fertilizer as nitrogen resources. Aerobic test was carried out by putting erlenmeyers in a shaker incubator, 120 rpm shaking speed, at 50°C temperature. While 150 days in microcosmic one observation showed that the consortium has the potential to grow up to 50% (v/v) sludge oil load. Pramoedya depicted the brutality of Japanese troops in their occupation in Indonesia. All Japanese propaganda delivered false messages and caused disasters for Indonesian people. Japanese culture retardation and their brutality made the author suffer and down. Even though his novels associate with anti Japanese occupation and patriotism among the youth, humanities issues in fact appear as a strong theme in all his works.

This essay examines manga, the japanese comic Master Cooking Boy" and inquires what the manga offers to the reader beside being a popular reading. This essay reviews the history of manga and its function in the Japanese culture. The paper unravels the theories of cultural studies such as hegemony and multiculturalism in the analyse of this manga. This paper discusses the wider horizon of manga as a field of hegemony discourse and multiculturalism. It opens the possibilities to analyse manga in a different perspective and shows how ideology can operates in the popular literature.

Kusta yang disebabkan oleh infeksi Mycobacterium leprae merupakan penyakit menular dengan masalah yang sangat kompleks. Tiga tahun terakhir, Kabupaten Cirebon yang melaporkan 1.207 penderita kusta (Prevalence 1,69/10.000 penduduk), belum mencapai tahap eliminasi sehinga penularan masuh berlansung. Tujuan penelitian mengembangan sistem informasi kusta berbasis geografis yang dapat dijadikan solusi percepatan eliminasi kusta di Kabupaten Cirebon. Infeksi nosokomial masih merupakan masalah kesehatan di seluruh dunia karena meningkatkan angka kematian. Infeksi nosokomial paling tinggi ditemukan di ruang perawatan bayi dan angka infeksi tertinggi terjadi di ruang perawatan intensif neonatus. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui hubungan antara berat badan lahir bayi dengan kejadian infeksi nosokomial. Penelitian ini menggunakan data sekunder rekam medik bayi yang dirawat di level III Perinatologi RSAB Harapan Kita. Desain studi yang digunakan adalah Kasus Kontro dengan metode analisis regresi logistik ganda. Angka Kematian Bayi (AKB) di Indonesia masih tetap tinggi. Berdasarkan Biro Pusat Statistik (BPS) pada tahun 1995 adalah 55/1.000 kelahiran hidup. Salah satu penyebab utama dari kematian bayi adalah penyakit tetanus neonatorum. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan hubungan antara usia saat ditemukan adanya indikasi penyakit neonatarum pada bayi dengan timbulnya kematian yang disebabkan oleh tetanus neonatorum pada bayi-bayi tersebut di Kabupaten Indramayu pada tahun 1996-2001. Kebakaran yang terjadi tak terduga akibat kelalaian manusia dan kondisi lingkungan dapat menyebabkan kerugian materi dan fisik serta rasa khawatiran yang menurunklan kondisi kerja. Kebakaran dapat terjadi akibat aliran listrik hubungan singkat, gesekan rol mesin dan gesekan mekanis mesin sehingga perlu diamati secara ketat. Oleh sebab itu, tiap bangunan dan tempat kerja perlu memiliki fasilitas dan tim penanggulangan kebakaran yang memadai. Sebagai perusahaan industri percetakan pembungkus produk, PT.
