Chemisorption Of Organic Dyes On Chryostile Asbestos And The Toxicity Issue, Fathi Habashi
Fathi Habashi
Asbestos, an extremely useful natural resource, has been studied extensively mineralogically and for industrial application. Its extraction from ores has been greatly improved with respect to safety in the work place. In spite of that, there is a decisive effort in many countries to ban its use on the grounds that it is a toxic substance. This action resulting in drastic decrease in production and the possibility of destroying the industry. The chelation of asbestos with organic dyes seems to be a promising way to abate its toxicity. Dyeing can be done when the fibers are slurred in water at …

Hidrometalurjide Çöktürme. Precipitation In Hydrometallurgy, Fathi Habashi
Hidrometalurjide Çöktürme. Precipitation In Hydrometallurgy, Fathi Habashi
Fathi Habashi
Precipitation of inorganic compounds or metals from aqueous solutions can either be physical (crystallization) or chemical in nature. Chemical processes are varied: they may be due to hydrolytic action, due to to ionic interaction, or due to reduction, i.e., transfer of electrons. Transfer of electrons in reduction processes may take place homogeneously or heterogeneously. In the first case it may be ionic or non-ionic in nature. Heterogeneous processes may be electrochemical of electrolytic. Examples of interest to hydrometallurgy are given. Translated into Turkish by Prof. Murat Erdemoglu, Inönü Üniversitesi, Malatya, from Proceedings of XVIII International Mineral Processing Congress, Sydney, Australia …

Kinetics And Mechanisms Of Gold And Silver Dissolution In Cyanide Solution, Fathi Habashi
Fathi Habashi
The dissolution of gold and silver in cyanide solution is an oxidation–reduction process in which cyanide ion forms a strong complex with Au+ or Ag+ ions and the reduction of oxygen on the surface of metal may take place partially to the hydrogen peroxide stage or completely to hydroxyl ion.
