Difference Of Facial Achromatic Numbers Between Two Triangular Embeddings Of A Graph, Kengo Enami, Yumiko Ohno
Difference Of Facial Achromatic Numbers Between Two Triangular Embeddings Of A Graph, Kengo Enami, Yumiko Ohno
Theory and Applications of Graphs
A facial $3$-complete $k$-coloring of a triangulation $G$ on a surface is a vertex $k$-coloring such that every triple of $k$-colors appears on the boundary of some face of $G$. The facial $3$-achromatic number $\psi_3(G)$ of $G$ is the maximum integer $k$ such that $G$ has a facial $3$-complete $k$-coloring. This notion is an expansion of the complete coloring, that is, a proper vertex coloring of a graph such that every pair of colors appears on the ends of some edge.
For two triangulations $G$ and $G'$ on a surface, $\psi_3(G)$ may not be equal to $\psi_3(G')$ even if $G$ …

The Ricci Curvature On Simplicial Complexes, Taiki Yamada
Theory and Applications of Graphs
We define the Ricci curvature on simplicial complexes modifying the definition of the Ricci curvature on graphs, and prove upper and lower bounds of the Ricci curvature. These properties are generalizations of previous studies. Moreover, we obtain an estimate of the eigenvalues of the Laplacian on simplicial complexes by the Ricci curvature.
Improving Prosocial And Academic Skills While Decreasing Challenging Behavior, Tom Clees
Improving Prosocial And Academic Skills While Decreasing Challenging Behavior, Tom Clees
Georgia Association for Positive Behavior Support Conference
Youth with challenging behaviors such as noncompliance, aggression, self-injury, and deficits in academic engagement are at-risk for future school failure, including suspension and expulsion, mental health challenges, and incarceration (Alberto and Troutman, 2022; Kauffman, 2016). Low academic achievement, behavioral excesses and social skills deficits are predictive of each other (Gresham, 2016), and may create an escalating cycle leading to further antisocial responses (Kaufman, 2016). The literature provides considerable research on evidence-based strategies that have been associated with positive academic (on-task, task completion) and behavioral (increase in prosocial skills with decreasing challenging behavior) outcomes, among which include (1) self-directed interventions, or …

Extinguish Teacher Burnout To Ignite School And Classroom Connectivity, Brandon Quinn Mr.
Extinguish Teacher Burnout To Ignite School And Classroom Connectivity, Brandon Quinn Mr.
Georgia Association for Positive Behavior Support Conference
Schools across the state and the nation face a significant concern in the education profession. Many educators are leaving the teaching field or seriously considering leaving earlier than expected. Couple this with the growing problem of new teacher retention, and anyone can see that our beloved institution is heading towards a major crisis if we are not already involved in one. One of the main culprits of the woes in education is teacher burnout. Developing a strong climate and culture in a classroom is very challenging for an educator experiencing burnout. In the “Extinguishing Teacher Burnout and Ignite School and …

Academic journals continue to produce articles that highlight record levels of student disengagement and lack of motivation. Faculty have been encouraged to use high impact, active learning strategies to increase student engagement and success (Patrick et al., 2016). One technique, service learning, allows students to become active learners through applying learned skills and theory from the classroom to community settings (Connolly, et al., 2017). The purpose of this study was to highlight students’ perceptions and experiences through three semester-long service-learning courses where students provided a fitness and mindfulness program to local teachers to help them address stressors. Undergraduate sports management …

Toughness Of Recursively Partitionable Graphs, Calum Buchanan, Brandon Du Preez, K. E. Perry, Puck Rombach
Theory and Applications of Graphs
A simple graph G = (V,E) on n vertices is said to be recursively partitionable (RP) if G ≃ K1, or if G is connected and satisfies the following recursive property: for every integer partition a1, a2, . . . , ak of n, there is a partition {A1,A2, . . . ,Ak} of V such that each |Ai| = ai, and each induced subgraph G[Ai] is RP (1 ≤ i ≤ k). We show that if S is a …

Wiener Index In Graphs Given Girth, Minimum, And Maximum Degrees, Fadekemi J. Osaye, Liliek Susilowati, Alex S. Alochukwu, Cadavious Jones
Wiener Index In Graphs Given Girth, Minimum, And Maximum Degrees, Fadekemi J. Osaye, Liliek Susilowati, Alex S. Alochukwu, Cadavious Jones
Theory and Applications of Graphs
Let $G$ be a connected graph of order $n$. The Wiener index $W(G)$ of $G$ is the sum of the distances between all unordered pairs of vertices of $G$. The well-known upper bound $\big( \frac{n}{\delta+1}+2\big) {n \choose 2}$ on the Wiener index of a graph of order $n$ and minimum degree $\delta$ by Kouider and Winkler \cite{Kouider} was improved significantly by Alochukwu and Dankelmann \cite{Alex} for graphs containing a vertex of large degree $\Delta$ to $W(G) \leq {n-\Delta+\delta \choose 2} \big( \frac{n+2\Delta}{\delta+1}+4 \big)$. In this paper, we give upper bounds on the Wiener index of $G$ in terms of order …

Moral Distress As A Predictive Variable Of Perceived Job Retention In Senior Nursing Students, Rebekah L. Barber
Moral Distress As A Predictive Variable Of Perceived Job Retention In Senior Nursing Students, Rebekah L. Barber
Honors College Theses
New Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) graduate nurses are leaving careers within inpatient healthcare facilities presumably because of moral distress related to the anticipated workload of registered nurses (RN). BSN curriculums are responsible for providing practical education through clinical instruction; however, many students experience inconsistencies in best practice recommendations. The inconsistencies predominantly originate between didactic nursing instruction and clinical learning within inpatient healthcare facilities. Using a cross-sectional descriptive research design, this thesis utilized the validated Moral Distress Scale-Revised (MDS-R), a 21-item instrument that assesses the frequency and intensity of moral distress experienced by healthcare workers. Student responses to the …
On The Hardness Of The Balanced Connected Subgraph Problem For Families Of Regular Graphs, Harsharaj Pathak
On The Hardness Of The Balanced Connected Subgraph Problem For Families Of Regular Graphs, Harsharaj Pathak
Theory and Applications of Graphs
The Balanced Connected Subgraph problem (BCS) was introduced by Bhore et al. In the BCS problem we are given a vertex-colored graph G = (V, E) where each vertex is colored “red” or “blue”. The goal is to find a maximum cardinality induced connected subgraph H of G such that H contains an equal number of red and blue vertices. This problem is known to be NP-hard for general graphs as well as many special classes of graphs. In this work we explore the time complexity of the BCS problem in case of regular graphs. We prove that the BCS …

The Digital Engine Model: Generating Leads Through The Application Of Dcm And Inbound Marketing, Kyle A. Huggins, John D. Hansen
Journal of Applied Marketing Theory
Digital Content Marketing (DCM) has become a primary tool for marketers in driving lead generation in today’s digital marketing world. Leading brands are creating and curating content trying to build brand equity and trust, connecting content to consumer action through brand story. And while strong theoretical models of content marketing have been discussed in the marketing literature, like Hollebeek and Macky (2019), there is a dearth of understanding about the application and direct impact of organic digital content strategies on marketing directives. This paper investigates an applied model, called The Digital Engine, which provides instruction on proper inbound marketing techniques …

Digital Vs. Traditional: Comparing Sales Students' Initial Post- College Career Search Preferences Before And After Covid-19, Linda Mullen, Randy Stuart, Michael L. Thomas
Journal of Applied Marketing Theory
This study explores the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the
career search strategies of college students studying professional
sales. The research consists of a post-pandemic study that is
compared to a previous study conducted pre-pandemic in 2019. The
paper investigates the preference of sales students for digital
media versus face-to-face interactions in their career searches.
The pre-pandemic study revealed that while sales students
engaged with digital media, they still heavily relied on traditional
methods. The post-pandemic results differed primarily in students’
interviewing preferences. Despite the challenges posed by the
pandemic, students continue to utilize both online and traditional
resources. …

Student Perceptions And Preferences Of University-Affiliated Athletic Merchandise And Logos, Robin Hardin, Michelle L. Childs, Kirby D. Simpson
Journal of Applied Marketing Theory
College sports are certainly ingrained in the fabric of American society, and a significant aspect of this phenomena is the pageantry associated with college sports. This pageantry includes team logos and official team colors, and both are important aspects of fandom and team identification. Utilizing social identify theory as the theoretical framework for this research, the purpose of this study was to examine students’ university-affiliated athletic merchandise and logo preferences and related behaviors. Two focus groups were conducted with results showing three major themes, where students demonstrated polarizing views and opinions. These themes were (a) fashion and function, (b) orientation …
