The focus of this Capstone Project is to determine the ways in which communities and schools can help support students and their families during the current global pandemic. This is an important issue for students and their families because due to differences in socioeconomic status, language, and/or time and availability, not all resources are available to everyone. Keeping kids healthy has always been a challenging task due to a plethora of reasons, but leaders in education have been doing their best to overcome this obstacle. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic has made this challenge even greater. It has been more difficult to make an impact on student health because of distance learning. Healthy food programs and physical activity in school have been harder to reach, and because of this second Stay-At-Home order in California, it may now be a further reach.
