Nclb Technology And A Rural School: A Case Study, Theresa A. Cullen, Thomas A. Brush, Timothy J. Frey, Rebecca S. Hinshaw, Scott J. Warren

Faculty Publications - Curriculum & Instruction

The requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB) have presented special challenges and opportunities for rural schools (Reeves, 2003). Researchers have suggested that one way rural schools may be able to overcome these challenges is through an increase in the level of technology integration in their school (Collins & Dewees, 2001). This case study reports on one school’s attempt to use grant resources funded through NCLB to integrate specific instructional technologies to facilitate increased student achievement. Through interviews and observations, the roles, attitudes, and difficulties of teachers and administrators in implementing a technology initiative in a …

Comparison Of The Pull-Out Strengths Of Three Different Screws In Pedicular Screw Revisions: A Biomechanical Study, Irfan Esenkaya, Yurdaer Denizhan, Mehmet Akif Kaygusuz, Mehmet Yetmez, Mehmet Halidun Keleştemur

OBJECTIVES: We investigated the possible effects of three pedicular screws on axial pull-out strength in pedicular revision surgery. METHODS: Two study groups were formed from calf lumbar vertebrae. Initially, Alici pedicular screws with an outer diameter of 6.5 mm were applied (with or without tapping) to all the pedicles. All the pedicles were subjected to axial pull-out testing to induce pedicular insufficiency. Then, Alici pedicular screws with an outer diameter of 7 mm were applied to the left pedicles. The right pedicles in the two study groups were assigned to receive two different types of pedicular screws with an expandable …

"A Serious Ethnological Exhibition": The Indian Congress Of The Trans-Mississippi And International Exposition Of 1898, J. Brent Etzel

The thesis explores the development and presentation of the Indian Congress exhibit at the 1898 Trans-Mississippi and International Exposition in Omaha. Intended to provide fairgoers an opportunity to witness an ethnological representation of the life and customs of Native Americans, the exhibit ultimately took a different shape than its creators intended. Despite these changes, the Indian Congress continued to be promoted as a “serious ethnological exhibit,” and became the …
