My work has its roots in structures; the regularity of structural components feel right to me and serves as a counterpoint to the visual noise of the natural world. My most recent work has focused on houses and home structures. Most contemporary houses are only a slight variation on one another, and there doesn’t seem to be too many models to choose from. My life would make a perfect decadent novel. Nothing happens, but it happens with style. The time we live in now is an exceedingly decadent one, and I am interested in making connections and comparisons to periods of historical decadence. Aesthetically and thematically I am interested in the art and literature of the 1890s and 1920s, especially the Aesthetic, Decadent, and Art Nouveau movements. Implementing Dysphagia Screenings In Stroke Patients, Meredith Buller

Dysphagia screenings are important to be done for all stroke patients in order to prevent aspiration, pneumonia, and other complications. All patients should be screened regardless of severity of stroke. Many policies outline that all patients should be screened, but many floors are not implementing the policy on all patients. This article reviews research associated with dysphagia screenings and how to properly perform one. Dysphagia screenings should be performed on all stroke patients at the hospital to achieve the best outcomes post-stroke.

In my work I like to explore the tension between craving vulnerability and trying to hide yourself away. Abstract

The purpose of this research has been to observe how performance of the Lambda@EDGE environment compares to the base Lambda environment. This is in an effort to determine viability of the EDGE environment. 15 tests were conducted over a matter of days in each environment whereby the Fibonacci sequence was calculated to 20 terms. Performance metrics including RAM usage and response time were measured. Lambda@EDGE was determined to have not only a slightly higher average response time but also an average RAM usage of 1MB more in the aggregate tests.

Throughout the last century, Eastern Kentucky has been pivotal in the coal production for the united states. As such many jobs and economic opportunities were largely formed through coal mining. In recent years, however, coal production has shifted elsewhere leaving the rural communities of eastern Kentucky at risk of economic failure. This project was focused on providing a redevelopment plan for an abandoned coal mine in eastern Kentucky. Management practices in gardens are often critical to the height of the plants grown. The objective of this study was to evaluate the differences in snow pea, Pisum sativum, height when grown with Organilock fertilizer compared to without fertilizer in Murray, Kentucky. The snow peas were grown in two separate 3 foot by 4 foot plots, one with the Organilock product and the other without fertilizer. Babies born addicted to opioids, and stimulants is a major problem in the United States. Mothers are often tested during pregnancy and given a treatment plan. Sadly many mothers struggle with their addiction and end up using harmful drugs throughout the pregnancy, causing neonatal abstinence syndrome, and developmental issues. These babies are often treated and put into a protective custody, while the mother receives treatment or permanently.

I make fantasy inspired scenes that are naturalistic. This means the scene itself isn’t realistic, just the bodies or individual forms. Everything else is just various things put together that you wouldn’t normally see together. That way the scene is comprehensible, but you also can’t say, “That’s not accurate”. Real everyday scenes are kind of boring because there’s nothing to invoke an emotion in me, so I like to bring things that can only exist from the human mind into the picture.
