專題講座
今日的西貢以「香港後花園」見稱，位於新界東部的離島地區，環抱山水，景色優美，是各歐美人士和影視紅星聚居之地，亦是各行山愛好者的週末好去處。不過，有誰會想到數十年來西貢經歷了滄海桑田？西貢調景嶺曾經是國民政府遺民的聚居點，依靠港英政府的救濟；而萬宜灣則曾是數個客家聚落的鄉土，村民以耕種和捕魚維生。1970年代起，調景嶺居民的經濟改善，逐漸遷出區外居住；而萬宜水庫的興建則使西貢移山填海，舊村落從此淹沒水底。是次是講座和考察將帶領參加者回到過去，認識西貢已消逝的歷史，感受昔日山區水鄉的情懷。

La unidad INTRODUCCIÓN AL MUESTREO presenta los conceptos fundamentales del muestreo, con lo que se busca que el estudiante sepa diferenciar con claridad que es un censo y cuando es conveniente hace uso de muestras. Se abordan las definiciones de e lementos muestrales, población, universo, censo, muestra, marco muestral, entre otras. También se plantearan las etapas de un diseño muestral, así como el Plan general de una encuesta, desde la formación de grupos de temática, pasando por el plan de muestreo, el grupo de sistemas y el operativo de campo.

荃灣、葵涌及青衣是香港第一代新市鎮。早於1950年代，政府銳意在鄰近九龍的地區開闢土地，以「自給自足，均衡發展」為理念，拓展新市鎮。自此，擁有數百年歷史的荃葵青便經歷翻天覆地的變化：大規模的移山填海改變了原來的地貌；舊村落的搬遷重置騰出了發展空間；新道路網絡的建設打通了區內外的流動；各式樓房大廈的興建令人事活動驟增。是次講座暨考察活動以荃葵青的歷史發展為經，以新市鎮拓展為緯，細說區內數百年來的蛻變。

香港除了繁華的都市面貌外，還有清幽閒靜的一面。香港的離島大多保留了其自然風貌和簡樸的鄉村風情。是次講座將為各位介紹香港別具特色的離島，包括塔門、東平洲、吉澳和蒲台島。其中有「香港南極」之稱的蒲台島歷史十分悠久，早在1425年繪製的《鄭和航海圖》裡已有記載。在上世紀五六十年代，這個小小的島嶼曾居住高達2,000人，村民大多以捕維生，但隨漁業沒落，居民相繼遷出，現時島上雖然僅餘不到20名居民，卻仍然保留了豐富的人文資源。是次考察將帶各位到蒲台島感受當地的風土面貌和如畫的自然景色。

1941年12月8日，日軍渡過深圳河正式向香港發動侵略戰。至平安夜，日軍攻至英軍在港島南端最後的一個據點—赤柱，兩軍爆發激戰。最終港督楊慕奇在聖誕日宣佈投降，為香港三年零八個月的艱苦歲月正式揭開了序幕。現時赤柱仍遺下不少日軍侵略及管治的遺址，其中設於聖士堤反書院內的文物徑更為這段歷史保留了甚為珍貴的文化財產。

Methylcyclohexane methanol (MCHM) is the chemical that leaked into the Elk River, in Charlestown, West Virginia on the 9th of January, 2014, causing state of emergency called for use of drinking water contaminated with the chemical. Methylcyclohexane methanol is an organic compound classified as a saturated higher alicyclic primary alcohol. It is commonly used in air fresheners and as frothing agent for coal processing and cleaning. The full toxicity of this chemical to humans was unknown at the time of spill and there is still lack of information on exact toxic effects of the crude MCHM. In a recent study …

Soils are being continuously exposed to large amounts of engineered nanoparticles (ENPs), especially silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). These materials can interact with microbial enzyme activity, stability and/or specificity affecting their role in nutrient cycling. Specific enzyme activity measurements have potential to serve as bioindicator in identifying major changes in the soil environment. Present study investigated the effect of AgNPs on soil enzymes known to play a critical role in mineralization of C, N, P and S in the soil. Soil samples were collected from surface layer (0-10 cm) of a Wrengart silt loam series. The study used two sizes (10 and …
