Spectral Properties Of Percolating Central Force Elastic Networks, Anthony Day, R. Tremblay, A.-M. Tremblay Sep 1985

Spectral Properties Of Percolating Central Force Elastic Networks, Anthony Day, R. Tremblay, A.-M. Tremblay

Anthony Roy Day

The exponent describing the low frequency spectrum of vibrations for the central force universality class is computed with both the Coherent Potential Approximation and numerical simulations. The results of both calculations agree surprisingly well.

Quantitative Evaluation Of Enhancement Techniques, B. L. Deekshatulu, Arun D. Kulkarni, G. Kashipati Rao

Arun Kulkarni

Enhancement techniques are often used in image processing. In this paper, a quantitative measure of the image quality through evaluation of the coefficient of information content and the entropy has been suggested to evaluate the effect of enhancement. The image has been assumed to be a sample function of a homogeneous random field and the pixel values are estimated from the ‘past’ pixel values. The difference between the estimated value and the actual value of the pixel has been used as the criterion for defining the coefficient of information content. Also, the entropy obtained using the co-occurrance matrix of the …

A Rapid Affinity Chromatography Procedure For The Isolation Of Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase From Human Erythrocytes, Chris Craney, M. Goffredo Jan 1983

A Rapid Affinity Chromatography Procedure For The Isolation Of Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase From Human Erythrocytes, Chris Craney, M. Goffredo

Chris L. Craney

The isolation of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase from outdated human erythrocytes (type AB+) utilizing NADP+ affinity chromatography and gel-permeation chromatography (Bio-Gel P-150) yields a fully active, homogeneous preparation. The procedure is faster and gives a higher yield than previous reports.
