The specific problem of this study is to ascertain some of the difficulties experienced by teachers in eliciting emotional catharsis from their pupils and interpreting its results, and to describe these difficulties in operation concepts. The term emotional catharsis is used to mean a spontaneous expression of emotionally toned thoughts or ideas.
