Endometriosis is an incurable chronic illness impacting 190 million women worldwide. Despite the prevalence of this painful disease, research addressing how it affects Black women in the United States was limited. Research addressing this phenomenon during the COVID-19 pandemic was further limited. The purpose of this qualitative study employing an interpretative phenomenological analysis was to understand the mental health of Black women with endometriosis-related symptoms during the COVID-19 pandemic and how having the illness during the pandemic might have impacted individuals in this population. Burnout rates of correctional employees are higher than employees in the general public. The purpose of this study was to identify how occupational factors impact burnout rates among correctional mental health workers. Grounded in the job-demands theoretical model, this study compared burnout rates among mental health staff within county jails and state prisons. Researchers have named pleasure as a form of justice: a reclamation of the body and striving for happiness. For Black women, cultural messaging and lived experiences have led to sexual shame that can impact how individuals experience sexual satisfaction. This quantitative cross-section correlational study was conducted to assess the relationship between sexual shame and sexual satisfaction, the relationship between appropriated racial oppression and sexual satisfaction, and whether appropriated racial oppression moderated the relationship between sexual shame and sexual satisfaction in Black women. Assisted outpatient treatment and involuntary outpatient treatment laws refer to the power of the court system to order community-based treatment without hospitalization to individuals with a mental illness diagnosis. Suicide is the second leading cause of death among adolescent, teens, and young adults. Suicidal ideation is a predictor of suicide attempts. Guided by the integrated motivational-volitional model and social cognitive theory, Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance Survey data were used to investigate whether traditional bullying, cyberbullying, and participation in physically violent behavior (independent variables) were associated with suicidal ideation and behavior (dependent variables) among African American high school aged youth controlling for age, gender, physical, and sexual abuse. Evangelical Christians with mental distress in the family face stigma, adverse psychological and physical health effects, and financial hardships. They often mistrust professional counselors, preventing them from accessing much-needed support. The purpose of this descriptive phenomenological study was to gain knowledge about Evangelical Christians’ everyday life with a family member experiencing mental distress and their perceptions of the faith community’s responses. Moral distress (MD) is a concept that has been well studied in nursing and other medical fields as a precursor to provider burnout. Understanding how MD impacts behavioral health (BH) clinicians provides insights for counselor educators and supervisors to identify clinical situations that often lead to MD. The purpose of the study was to explore intensive in-home counselors’ perceptions and experiences with vicarious trauma when providing in-home services to children. The constructivist self-development theory was used to explain how helpers develop vicarious trauma after exposure to traumatic stories of clients. A generic qualitative inquiry was the methodology for this study because it focused on illuminating the participants’ experiences, and offered a highlighted description of the participants’ awareness, consciousness, and understanding, which explored those personal experiences. The problem addressed in this qualitative case study was the lack of documentation that supports the perceptions and experiences of crisis intervention team (CIT) trained female police officers related to their encounters with persons with mental illness (PwMI) with autism. However, little is known about women’s lived experiences of owning a group counseling practice. An interpretative phenomenological analysis approach was used to explore the lived experiences of six female licensed professional counselors who have owned a group counseling practice for at least 5 years.
