Objective: To assess the orthodontic treatment outcomes in a university dental clinic and to determine factors associated with the treatment outcomes. Methods and materials: Firstly, the records of all patients who have completed fixed orthodontic treatment from 2012 to 2017 were identified and included in the study. Age at start of treatment, gender, decayed, missing filled teeth (DMFT), malocclusion classification, type of appliance used and type of treatment (extraction or non-extraction) were recorded. In Class II deep-bite malocclusions with growth potential, we could combine orthodontic treatment with orthopedic methods to achieve stable occlusion. The case was a 12-year-old male presented with Class II malocclusion, deep-bite, and low mandibular plane angle. In the stage I treatment, headgear was used to restrict the growth of maxilla. The orthodontic management of patients with cleidocranial dysplasia (CCD) is challenging, which takes a long treatment duration and observation to follow the progress. The completion of treatment is usually not finished until growth completion. This case describes the long-term stage treatment of a 22-year-old female presented with familial CCD. The first stage orthodontic treatment was separated into two phases including surgical exposure of the anterior and posterior teeth, respectively. A 21-year-old female with severe concave profile and prominent chin came for surgical-orthodontic consultation. The patient had missing of four premolars which became intricate with extremely lingual inclined incisors and over-developed mandible. The surgery first approach (SFA) was adopted to correct the skeletal factors at the early stage. The pre-adjusted orthodontic bracket system was applied to normalize the torque of the teeth afterward. Background/objectives This study aimed to investigate the effect of one or two brackets on orthodontic frictional forces and to compare frictional forces of posterior segments when a molar tube had different degrees of tipping. To compare fracture resistance of endodontically treated maxillary premolars restored with ceramic restorations using three retentive techniques. Forty maxillary premolars were randomly selected as a control (Group 1), composite core/crown (Group 2), fiber-reinforced composite post/ composite core/crown (Group 3) and endocrown (Group 4). All restorations were thermo-cycled and subjected to vertical loading. Fracture load and fracture modes were analyzed. The results showed that Group 3 recorded a significantly highest fracture load (2304 ± 737 N). Purpose: This manuscript aimed to present a review of the literature pertaining to horse riding and other horse-related injuries.

Method: A review of the literature was performed, searching for appropriate terms with regards to horse accidents, horse riding injuries and protective clothing for the horse riding context. The literature review search returned 151 relevant full-text articles, with 71 of these detailing the overall injury epidemiology of horse-related accidents. Most of these studies were conducted in the USA and used a retrospective review of hospital data methodology.

This paper presents the zooarchaeological observations on animal remains of Alaybeyi Höyük unearthed from 2016 and 2017 excavation sessions. Dated to 4721-4553 cal. BC, Alaybeyi stands so far as the oldest archaeological settlement discovered in northeast Anatolia. Therefore, the faunal assemblage at Alaybeyi offers great opportunity to study the status of animals and their relationships with humans in the largely unexplored Kars-Erzurum plateau covering a period from the Chalcolithic to Late Iron Age. To the best of our knowledge, there is no study having evaluated the immunohistochemical features of FNIPs. Specimens of Oreochromis niloticus (One control and 3 experimental groups) were fed diets mixed with different doses of mercury (control group = free of mercury; group 1 = 500 mg/kg; group 2 = 750 mg/kg, and group 3 = 1000 mg/kg) for 60 days in order to study its accumulation and histopathological alterations in the liver, gills, skeletal muscles, and skin. The results obtained revealed that mercury accumulation was significantly (P < 0.05) high in the liver and gills compared to the muscles and skin. The order of accumulation in these organs revealed to be liver > gills > muscles > skin. The fish fed various doses of mercury also showed histological alterations in these organs. Background/aim: Multipotent mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have been investigated in autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA) due to their immunomodulatory and regenerative properties. In this study, their immunosuppressive effects on peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) of RA patients were studied.Materials and methods: Dental follicle stem cells (DFSCs) were isolated from follicle tissue in the orofacial region. Objective structured clinical examinations (OSCEs) are a series of controlled, timed stations in which students demonstrate clinical skills. OSCEs are commonly used within health professions education to demonstrate competence, prepare for clinical education, and conduct program evaluation. The body of literature addressing the use of OSCEs in occupational therapy (OT) is growing; however, there are no available guidelines for developing an OSCE specific to the profession. Background/aim: To assess the efficacy and side effects of concurrent weekly chemotherapy and radiotherapy with simultaneous integrated boost (SIB) technique for nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC). Materials and methods: A total of 51 consecutive patients with diagnosis of NPC were treated between February 2010 and December 2015. The median dose for PTV70 (range: 60-82) was given in 33 fractions (range: 31-35). Forty-five of the patients received concomitant weekly chemotherapy between 3-7 cycles (median 6). Eleven patients received neoadjuvant and thirty-nine patients received adjuvant chemotherapy.
