Objectives: To compare the effects of ultrasound guided erector spine plane block (ESPB) with serratus anterior plane block (SAPB) for thoracotomy under general anesthesia. Background: Patients undergoing thoracotomy often experience severe postoperative pain. Inadequate control of this pain increases the risk of postoperative complications and may develop into chronic pain. There is no golden standard for the management of postoperative pain following thoracotomy. Interfascial nerve blocks are proposed as simple and effective techniques. Objectives: to assess the effect of ultrasound-guided bilateral continuous anterior QLB on alleviating pain and fentanyl consumption in cirrhotic patients who undergoing major abdominal surgery. Methods: 60 cirrhotic patients undergoing major abdominal surgery were involved in this double blinded randomized control study. Background Intra-abdominal adhesions result in intraoperative and postoperative morbidities; adhesions to the abdominal wall bring bowel and blood vessels close to the sites of laparoscopic entry. Objective This study aimed to correlate lower uterine segment (LUS) thickness measured by both transvaginal (TVS) and transabdominal ultrasonography (TAS) after completion of 36 weeks of pregnancy with that measured manually using a caliper at the time of cesarean delivery and to determine minimum LUS thickness indicative of its integrity in women who have undergone a previous cesarean section.
