Rehabilitation Practice and Science
Introduction: Surfer's myelopathy is a nontraumatic, ischemic spinal cord injury that predominantly affects the lower thoracic cord. Owing to its clinical rarity, its pathophysiology and treatment protocol remain controversial. Frequently discussed hypotheses regarding its cause include ischemic change due to trunk hyperextension and the Valsalva maneuver, leading to back pain, weakness in the lower extremities, and bowel and bladder dysfunction. The prognosis varies widely, ranging from full recovery to paraplegia. casereport: We report the case of a 22-year-old female patient experiencing progressive loss of strength in the lower extremities and soreness in her lower back while surfing for the first …

Rehabilitation Practice and Science
Plantar fasciopathy is a common problem in the general population involving the proximal area of the central cord of the plantar aponeurosis. Few studies have discussed plantar fasciopathy distal to the calcaneus. In article reviewarticles, plantar fasciopathy distal to the calcaneus occurred in only 12% of the cases. In the casereport, including two cases in which fasciopathy were involved in the central part of the plantar fascia, the incidence was obviously less than that mentioned above. These two cases were atypical diseases of plantar fasciopathy over the plantar arch. They both received one to several sessions of prolotherapy, but no …

Seattle Journal of Technology, Environmental & Innovation Law
The use of cryptocurrencies in daily life has continued to rise over the last decade and shows no signs of slowing down. Although cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin, provide numerous tangible benefits to society, the process of mining these cryptocurrencies is extremely energy intensive. Accordingly, a tragedy of the energy commons has resulted whereby the monetary incentive to mine cryptocurrencies has distorted our collective ability to care for our shared energy resources. The current system allows for industrious individuals to set up cryptocurrency mines in regions that have access to plentiful and cheap energy sources, utilize this energy to power their …

Managing Excess Inventory Of Stores In A Hospital, Naveen Kumar
Managing Excess Inventory Of Stores In A Hospital, Naveen Kumar
Manipal Journal of Medical Sciences
Inventory costs in hospitals vary from 30 to 40 percent of the hospital operating costs per year. Inventories are materials and supplies that a hospital carries for patient care. Often, they are a substantial part of the total assets of a hospital. Quick liquidation is imperative in real-time scenarios like value recovery, getting rid of excess material or bringing down logistics cost. Due to poor handling of finances by purchase managers without prior retail management education – the ordering systems, vendor payments management of the hospitals will not be ideal, which will affect vendor relations. In this scenario, this study …
