The “Clinical Experience” program at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College, established in 2017, provides pre-clerkship students with an opportunity to identify and address patients’ needs for social determinants of health (SDoH). The COVID-19 pandemic led to a suspension of the student program in the clinical environment, but the CHWs continued to address patients’ social needs from a remote setting. Objective In 2014, the Preston Medical Library underwent a radical change, moving from an academic office building to the main floor of a regional medical center. While the library previously served the public, health information requests have substantially increased in volume due to the new location. Each health information request is logged with the subject nature and patron contact information. Objective: Public libraries are known for being community-centered institutions providing equitable access to information and resources, playing an important role in improving individuals' access to health-related information. This project aimed to examine the perceived role and current practices of inner-city public librarians in delivering health-related information to members of their community.

“Can This Be Redacted? Developing an Institutional Repository and Addressing Privacy Issues” will explore privacy issues in terms of patient health information that have emerged as Oregon Health & Science University expands their institutional repository beyond theses and dissertations. The lighting talk presentation will focus specifically on student projects from the physician assistant program, School of Nursing, and the Northwest Native American Center, a center specifically focused on the health care needs of Native Americans in the U.S. The impact of a migration out of Bepress and into Samvera will also be discussed.

Introduction: Since its invention by German anatomist Gunther von Hagens, the process of forced-impregnation plastination of organic specimens has become the standard for the preservation of biological tissue specimens. This practice serves as the most practical method to preserve these specimens for study and is utilized at PCOM regularly for this purpose. During the steps of plastination, aqueous and lipid tissues are replaced by a curable polymer to produce plastinates that do not decompose, can be handled without gloves, and retain most characteristics of the original specimens.
