Two accurate spectrophotometric methods described for the estimation of carbamazepine (CBZ) in both pharmaceutical and pure form. These methodologies are attached to the bromination of CBZ by bromine formed in instantly from the bromate-bromide reaction. The general procedure includes the additional of a known amount of bromate-bromide reagent in an acidic mediocre to CBZ. After the reaction is integrated, the unreacted bromine was reacted with a steady amount of methylene blue, and the absorbance was measured at 665 nm (method A) or, cresol red could be used for the reaction and the absorbance moderated at 517 nm (method B). ((E)-4-(pyridin-3-yldiazenyl)naphthalen-1-ol) and (4-((E)–pyridin-3-yldiazenyl)– 8-((Z)-pyridin-3yldiazenyl)naphthalene-1,5-diol) (IIIa, b) were prepared. Condensation of (IIIa, b) with 2-(pyridin-4ylmethylene) malononitrile (V) under Michael reaction conditions gave the corresponding bezo[h]chromene and dihydrochromene[8,7-h] chromene derivatives (VIa, b). The cationic derivatives for (IIIa, b) and (VIa, b) were obtained by quaternization as (IVa,b) and (VIIa,b). The structures obtained were confirmed form IR, 1HNMR and mass spectra studies. The antimicrobial activities were also studied and have been found that; the cationic dyes (IVa,b) and (VIIa) exhibit promising results against Candida albicans.

Evaluation Of Catalytic Implementation Of Spinel Cofe2o4loaded Nay In Direct Hydroxylation Of Benzene To Phenol, Adham El-Zomrawy, Mohamed Thabet

Al-Azhar Bulletin of Science

Spinel cobalt ferrite CoFe2O4 was synthesized and in situ incorporated onto the porous structure of NaY zeolite by the co-precipitation process. The structural design of CoFe2O4/NaY composite was advantageous in terms of activity and stability. Various techniques were utilized to characterize the catalysts like X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and pore structure analysis by N2 adsorption at 77 K. It has been found that spinal CoFe2O4 in CoFe2O4/NaY was sparse on the NaY surface, along with the relevant species inside the zeolite pores. The SEM surface morphology suggests that CoFe2O4 has an irregular …

Ampero-Photometric Method (Apm) For The Determination Of Colored Solution Concentration Using A Light Dependent Resistor (Ldr), Adham El-Zomrawy

Al-Azhar Bulletin of Science

A simple, portable photometer depending on the intensity of the light that passes through a colored solution was designed. Through it, the measured light intensity parameter is converted to an electrical current density, which flow in a circuit of light dependent resistor (LDR). The suggested device is characterized by that it does not depend on the absorptivity at a specific wavelength, but depends on the intensity of the light passing through the sample only. The merits of this method are low power, high sensitivity, and very low cost. The proposed method is in excellent harmony with the determination of the …

An analytical comparative study was performed between the prepared emulsifiers polyisobutylene succinic anhydride (PIBSA) and the commercial LZ2735 and LZ2745 materials. The PIBSA-1, -2 and PIBSA/TEA were prepared by reacting the reactive polyisobutene (PIB) with maleic anhydride via isothermal heating at 250°C for 10 h. Then, PIBSA was heated with triethanolamine at 80°C for 2 h to give PIBSA/TEA. The structures of the prepared PIBSA-1, PIBSA-2, PIBSA/TEA, PIBSA/TEA-1, PIBSA/TEA-2, LZ2735 and LZ2745 were characterized by FTIR, 1H-, 13C-NMR spectroscopy and Gel permeation chromatography (GPC). The FTIR spectra of PIBSA-1 and -2 showed absorption carbonyl bands at 1711 and 1783 cm-1 …
