Isolation Of Dna For Sequence Analysis From Herbarium Material Of Some Lichen Specimens, Sümer Aras, Demet Cansaran Duman

An improved protocol for the isolation of DNA from herbarium material of some lichen specimens is described. The isolated DNA is suitable for PCR reactions for DNA sequence analysis. The hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) based protocol defined in this study provides a number of advantages, mainly speed and reliability. In addition, different DNA extraction protocols were examined to determine the yield of DNA from the thallus of lichen specimens. The methods examined include a CTAB based protocol and a sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS) based protocol. Contribution To The Lichen Flora Of Gürgen Dağı (Çanakkale), Gülşah Çobanoğlu, Orhan Sevgi̇

A list of 75 lichen taxa is reported from Gürgendağı Mountain located to the north of Kazdağı (Ida Mountain), in Çanakkale province. Among the identified taxa, 41 taxa are epiphytic, 26 saxicolous and 8 terricolous. All of the taxa are new records for the area. Nineteen taxa are new for the province.

Lichens Of Gemlik, İznik, Mudanya And Orhangazi Districts In Bursa Province (Turkey), Seyhan Oran, Şule Öztürk

: One hundred and eighty-one lichen taxa are reported from 88 localities in Gemlik, İznik, Mudanya and Orhangazi districts, north of Bursa, Turkey. Three species are new records for Turkey: Arthonia dispersa (Schrad.) Nyl., Lecanora sambuci (Pers.) Nyl. and Opegrapha herbarum Mont.. Sixty-two species are new records for Bursa province.
