“Sustainable Living” is a 4-credit General Education course taught through the Stockbridge School of Agriculture at UMass Amherst. Overall, the course directs students to reflect on their values and behaviors related to economic viability, social justice and environmental responsibility. This year, an Information Literacy (IL) component was added -- a weekly online assignment and discussion called “Beyond Google.” Learn how this embedded librarian model increased understanding of course content, provided a forum for articulating values and ideas, and developed IL skills to empower students as sustainability leaders and advocates. Objectives:

To illustrate our team-based approach to further integrate health sciences liaison services into a new medical education curriculum. Two full-time librarians are assigned to several departments as liaisons; duties for the school of medicine are shared between the two liaisons. Here, we describe several techniques employed to increase the library’s presence for information literacy in the new curriculum.

Methods:

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationships between the perceived organizational climate and professional burnout in libraries and computing services units in West Virginia higher education. Research questions were defined to investigate the differences between libraries and computing services units in the perceived organizational climate, professional burnout, organizational climate vs. burnout, demographics vs. organizational climate, demographics vs. burnout, and the combined effects of demographics and organizational climate upon burnout. The Work Environment Scale (WES) Form R, third edition, the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) HSS, third edition, and a demographic questionnaire measured the organizational climate, burnout, and demographics. …
