Simulation Evaluation Method Of Mission Sustainability For Operational Unit, Yan Xu, Junhai Cao, Tailiang Song, Gao Long, Zhang Qiang Jan 2019

Simulation Evaluation Method Of Mission Sustainability For Operational Unit, Yan Xu, Junhai Cao, Tailiang Song, Gao Long, Zhang Qiang

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: To analyze and evaluate support capabilities of operational units and scientifically describe the operational mission sustainability of weapon systems, the typical mission models for individual operational unit and operational units were established according to system engineering ideology. The mission status of operational units was defined, and the parameters including mission sustainability and equipment availability of operational units were proposed. An operational unit mission process simulation model was established with the agent-based method, which provides a simulation method for operational unit mission sustainability evaluation and technical means for the operational unit support capability assessment problem. A case study of …

Method Of Solving Incorrect Tasks Formed By Construction Of Fuzzy Models Assessing The Weakly Formallized Processes., D.T Muxamediyeva, X.A Primova Oct 2018

Method Of Solving Incorrect Tasks Formed By Construction Of Fuzzy Models Assessing The Weakly Formallized Processes., D.T Muxamediyeva, X.A Primova

Chemical Technology, Control and Management

The article examines the improvement of the method for obtaining a fuzzy and fuzzy-stable solution to incorrect problems arising in the construction of a model for estimating the state of weakly formalizable processes using various membership functions based on the theory of fuzzy sets. The proposed method makes it possible to construct a correct fuzzy model of weakly formalizable processes.

Best Management Practices: A Community-Based Approach To Construction And Installation, Nathanael J. La Breche Oct 2017

Best Management Practices: A Community-Based Approach To Construction And Installation, Nathanael J. La Breche

Purdue Journal of Service-Learning and International Engagement

The Wabash River Enhancement Corporation (WREC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving both the health of the Wabash River and the surrounding terrestrial areas. In an effort to improve water quality, their urban cost-share program focuses on supporting green projects within a critical region surrounding the Great Bend of the Wabash River. In this essay, a Purdue student describes his experience as leader of a six-member group who worked with WREC to locate a suitable site within this critical area and implement a green project. They selected the Lighthouse Baptist Church, located in Lafayette, Indiana, since it was experiencing …

An Integrated Framework For Fostering Human Factor Sustainability And Increased Safety In Aviation Ramp Operations, Sarah M. Hubbard, Denver Lopp Nov 2015

An Integrated Framework For Fostering Human Factor Sustainability And Increased Safety In Aviation Ramp Operations, Sarah M. Hubbard, Denver Lopp

Journal of Aviation Technology and Engineering

The aviation work environment has one of the highest accident rates of any industry sector in the United States, resulting in significant costs for both employee injuries and equipment damage. In fact, injury rates exceed rates found in areas that are widely recognized as hazardous, such as construction and mining, and it is estimated that aircraft ground damage costs are as high as 5 billion to 10 billion dollars per year. Purdue University’s Aviation Technology Department has conducted numerous safety and human factors studies in the past decade encompassing maintenance and repair operations, corporate flight departments, and over ten major …

Towards Sustainability In The Oil And Gas Sector: Benchmarking Of Environmental, Health, And Safety Efforts, Jennifer Schneider, Salim Ghettas, Nacer Merdaci, Mervin Brown, Joseph Martyniuk, Waleed Alshehri, Anthony Trojan Jan 2015

Towards Sustainability In The Oil And Gas Sector: Benchmarking Of Environmental, Health, And Safety Efforts, Jennifer Schneider, Salim Ghettas, Nacer Merdaci, Mervin Brown, Joseph Martyniuk, Waleed Alshehri, Anthony Trojan

Journal of Environmental Sustainability

The environmental, social and climate change issues that face the world today have all industries considering how they will address sustainability in the future. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the maturity of environmental, health and safety (EHS) efforts and progress toward sustainability in the oil and gas sector. Ten major oil companies have been analyzed based on public information including their published annual reports. Companies refer to voluntary initiatives when reporting their performance yet the assessment suggests that the sector overall continues to make progress and is maturing in its sustainability efforts. Many management system gaps were …

A Cost Benefit Analysis Of Improving Energy Efficiency Of A Fitness Facilty, Inuri A. Illeperuma Aug 2014

A Cost Benefit Analysis Of Improving Energy Efficiency Of A Fitness Facilty, Inuri A. Illeperuma

Journal of Environmental and Resource Economics at Colby

Abstract: Nearly 40% of the total U.S. energy consumption in 2012 was consumed in residential and commercial buildings, as recorded by U.S. Energy Information Administration. With the urgent need to reduce overall energy consumption in the U.S., many efforts are made to improve the energy efficiency of buildings. However, energy managers identify budget constraints as one of the main obstacles in improving the energy efficiency of buildings. Hence this study focuses on a cost benefit analysis of improving the energy efficiency, with a special focus on fitness facilities in college environments. As a case study, the author focuses on improving …
