The New Paradigm Of Textual Content In Organizations: A Multi-Dimensional Analysis In The Digital Landscape, Sandrine Lefebvre-Reghay

In this article, we aim to expand digital literature analysis to evaluate organizational textual content, vital for contemporary organizations' communication and operation. By comparing traditional literary structures with this new content format, we identify various dimensions influenced by it, including marketing, technology, economy, media, society, and culture. The dynamic nature of the internet, search engine algorithms, and AI's impact on content prompts a shift from prioritizing quantity to emphasizing quality, echoing Lucien Karpik's 1989 perspective on the value economy.

A dramatic, spoken-word performance based on a detailed examination of the text of more than 1.7 million tweets concerning coronavirus and covid that were sent during the hours surrounding the president's declaration of emergency on March 13, 2020 including the transcript of the remarks made at the Rose Garden press conference. The researcher used the Twitter JSON API to retrieve all of the tweets containing the search terms "covid" and "corona" occurring during the timeframe. This study analyzes codes of ethics, seen as documents, and their role in supporting the professional practice of librarianship. Theoretically it is placed within the scholarly discussion on the role and function of documents in various practices. Specific interest is directed towards the concept of ”performative documentality”. Empirically, the analysis is concentrated on one example, the Code of Ethics of the American Library Association (ALA). Both the immediate pre-history of this code, and its subsequent editions are described and analyzed in relation to the given theoretical position. Documents play a central role for many organizational processes. Current conceptualizations of documents predominantly engage with documents in two different ways. One sees documents as things with specific properties, and a second sees documents as medium enabling communication across different groups of actors. What is currently not well understood is how documents are perceived either as thing or as medium. This chapter engages with this issue by drawing from Fritz Heider’s epistemology of thing and medium, a concept stemming from social and media theory.
