Dickey-Lincoln School Lakes Project At Dickey, Maine : Draft Supplement Environmental Impact Statement, U.S. Army Engineer Division, New England Division

Dickey-Lincoln School Lakes Project

The purpose of this Draft Supplement (SDEIS) to the Revised Draft Environmental Impact Statement (RDEIS) is to evaluate the environmental impacts of the Fish and Wildlife Mitigation Plan proposed for Implementation in conjunction with development of the Dickey-Lincoln School Lakes Project, Maine (Appendix K, RDEIS and Attachment 1 of the Report). Although the mitigation plan is intended to mitigate rather than impose adverse environmental impacts, the mitigation measures proposed do constitute a major Federal action requiring the development of a supplemental environmental impact statement pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969.

This collection consists of copies of Civil War orders written to Captain Samuel Rothgeb sending supplies and orders for troop movements. Also included is a copy of an 1862 letter to “Friend Rothgeb” from R. L. Stewart regarding a steamboat shipment. Also included are copies of envelopes, a pay stub/check, an Army 50 cent note, and promotion form for Thomas A. Mau(l?)sly to the rank of Colonel in the 18th Regiment of West Virginia Militia.

Given that all collection items are copies, legibility can be limited but is overall high.

This collection consists of seven nineteenth century documents, including: An 1830 account of goods sold. The two parties are P. Beirne & Co. (spelling uncertain) and Benjamin Lemasters, and it is unclear of who is selling goods to whom. Survey of Lemasters’ plot of 1135 acres in Greenbrier County, West Virginia. The same mylar enclosure includes another copy of a survey from 1788 for Henry Banks. Letter dated 1835 form the War Department’s Pension Office to Lemasters relating to his service in the Revolutionary War.

This study examines the internal political scene of Israel and its affect on the overall Middle East situation. It focuses on ideology, structure, and policy within Israel as components of that scene.

The ideology of Zionism provided the justification for the creation of Israel and continues to form the basis for governmental decision making there.
