Two lone arranger, dual-role archivists are faced with highly successful, yet outsized, collaborative projects that have placed unexpected demands on time and resources. The archivists describe their successful projects which similarly engage students with primary source archival materials in innovative ways, from expanding the use of the institutional content management system (CMS) for student creators to providing career-relevant training to German language students. While these projects provide opportunities for institutional and community recognition and engagement with the archives, they require the archivist to consider ways to manage sustainability, scalability, and assessment of their collections along with their overwhelming workload. The study examined the survival strategies employed by state university libraries in Zimbabwe in the face of limited funding in 2014-2018. Financial and other challenges have had adverse effects on the provision of effective library services in most academic libraries world over. This study explored the funding models used by state university libraries in Zimbabwe and established fund raising strategies employed by such libraries. The research was qualitative in nature and used a multiple case-study methodology focusing on eight university libraries which were purposively selected. The study investigated the determinants of quality performance of library staff of selected academic libraries in Ghana. The study aimed at establishing the core determinants of quality performance and its sustainability in academic libraries. The study chooses a quantitative approach where the questionnaires were used as instruments to collect data on information on determinants of quality performance of library staff in selected academic libraries in Ghana. Out of 151 questionnaires administered, 146 were obtained representing 96.6%. Smart PLS3 software was used to analyse the quantitative data collected. We came together in Spring 2018 at a two-day think tank hosted by Duke University Libraries and supported by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, with dozens of other librarians, publishers, and scholarly communication stakeholders, to work on the question of sustainably publishing large digital projects. The outcome of that discussion turned into an extended project at TriangleSCI 2018 and culminated in the heuristic presented here.The heuristic can be used as a checklist to help authors (and their project team) assess their needs when it comes to making their digital projects findable, impactful, citable, usable, and sustainable (creating the acronym FICUS).

This study examined the sustainability of Library Open Source Software (with particular reference to KOHA) in Nigerian academic and research Libraries. Descriptive survey design was adopted with a total number of thirty five (35) libraries which were selected purposefully all over the six (6) geopolitical zones of Nigeria (twenty universities, both privates and publics, ten Polytechnics, and five colleges of education).
