Dona Eugenia, who is sick, undertakes a pilgrimage to the Virgin of San Juan de los Lagos. On the way there, demons cause her to become more and more angry at her promise to Our Lady, and she sinks into a rage of curses and blasphemies . With a clap of thunder, she is turned to stone!
