This research aims at investigating the level of job satisfaction in librarians working at libraries of Islamic Azad University in District 3. The research has analytical-survey method and the questionnaire and statistical sample consist of 40 librarians at target libraries. To conduct this research, a model is first designed for evaluating the job satisfaction in librarians in the form of 6 dimensions and 31 variables and their job satisfaction is designed based on the model and calculated by considering the scores of 31 variables. Research And Publication Productivity Of Librarians In Public Universities In South-West, Nigeria, Sarah Okonedo

This study reports the publication output of librarians in public universities in South-west, Nigeria. The descriptive survey method was used for the study. 166 copies of the questionnaire were administered to librarians in both federal and state university libraries. In response, 142 copies were retrieved indicating a response rate of 85.5%. The data was analyzed using frequency count, percentages, mean and standard deviation. Findings indicated that the publication output of librarians between 2009 and 2014 was relatively high. Librarians publish more in international journals than local journals and, librarians are motivated to publish mostly for promotion. Challenges to publication efforts …

The Institutional Review Board (IRB), also known as an Independent Ethics Committee (IEC), is the most widely adopted process to insure human participant protection. The IRB system is overburdened as human research studies and human participation has dramatically increased without a corresponding increase in reviewing clinicians or ethics staff. Librarian involvement in the IRB process is evident but uneven and unstudied on an international scale. A literature review and international survey attempted to provide professional practice context and librarian reflection on the extent of their involvement, roles, and responsibilities in the IRB or IEC institutional process.
