On July 23, 2020, TAS Inc. conducted a cultural resource survey of a 10- acre tract intended to host a truck stop on the northwest corner of IH10 and FM 793 two miles northeast of the town of Fabens, in El Paso County, Texas. The project was sponsored by Ya Rehman, Ent, Inc. and was authorized by Texas Antiquities Permit 9518 with Jeff Turpin acting as Principal Investigator. The tract is a southwest-trending dune between two arroyos. The pavement and construction debris from an abandoned gasoline station occupy the southwestern corner. On August 15 and 16, 2019, Advanced Archaeological Solutions (ADAS) conducted a block survey and linear right-of-way (ROW) surveys of several separate segments of proposed access road, overhead electric transmission line corridor area and a block survey area (33.75 acres) that total 2.44 miles (12,883 linear feet) located near the Town of Fabens, El Paso County, Texas (Figures 1-2).

TRC conducted intensive, linear pedestrian surveys of six (6) proposed routes. These lines are part of an approximate total of 58,180 linear feet of 8-inch potable water lines, 13,130 linear feet of 12-inch potable water lines, 11,240 linear feet of 16-inch potable water lines, and approximately 120 potable water service line household connections (3/4-inch). These potable water lines will connect to approximately 63 fire hydrants. The current neighborhood does not contain any existing water and wastewater facilities for residents. The residents of these areas currently use private water storage tanks, which typically have a capacity of up to 2,500 gallons. …

This report presents the results of an extensive photographic survey of recreational boulder climbing routes (i.e., bouldering problems) and enhanced documentation of Native American rock imagery at Hueco Tanks State Park and Historic Site in El Paso County, Texas, by Versar, Inc., for Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Fieldwork for this project was conducted between March and June 2016. Based on the two most comprehensive bouldering guidebooks available for Hueco Tanks, approximately 1,901 published bouldering problems exist within the park. TRC conducted an intensive, linear pedestrian survey of a proposed route for a sanitary sewer gravity line that will convey flows from the City of Vinton to a regional lift station. The regional lift station will be constructed by El Paso Water Utilities on their property. The sewer gravity line will range between 12 and 18 feet in diameter with a total length of more than 5,000 feet. Of the 5,000 feet, only 700 feet will cross the Rio Grande. An intensive archeological survey was completed in order to inventory and evaluate archeological resources within the footprint of proposed improvements to Pan American Drive and Winn Road in El Paso County, Texas. The proposed improvements would extend Winn Road from Pan American Drive to Rio Del Norte Drive, resurface Pan American Drive from Loop 375 to Winn Road, and expand an existing detention pond. The proposed improvements along Pan American Drive and Winn Road are approximately 2.03 miles (3.27 kilometers) long with a typical width of 90 feet (27.43 meters). During early May of 2015, TAS Inc. conducted a pedestrian survey and shovel testing of the Comanche Trail Pipeline, LLC (Comanche Trail) San Elizario Crossing in southeast El Paso County, Texas. The project will connect a natural gas pipeline in Texas with a natural gas pipeline in Mexico. Because of the international nature of the project, the survey fell under jurisdiction of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). The Center for Archaeological Research of The University of Texas at San Antonio conducted an analysis of 29,058 pieces of fire-cracked rock and burned caliche selected from a sample of hundreds of features tested as part of the Hueco Mountain Archaeological Project at Fort Bliss, Texas. Feature and non-feature material included in this analysis were collected from site FB 13237 located on the proximal fan, FB 12719 within the basin area, and FB 12412 situated in the transitional zone between the two.

Test excavations were undertaken at 41EP880 in northwest El Paso County, Texas in January of 1994 by archeologists from the Environmental Affairs Division of the Texas Department of Transportation. The site is located along the lower portion of an alluvial fan of the Franklin Mountains overlooking the Rio Grande Valley.

The project calls for an additional 18 m (60 ft.) of right-of-way in the vicinity of the archeological site, which extends both to the north and the south of the existing road. All additional right-of-way will be acquired from the northern side of Artcraft Road. Since the existing roadway cuts …

Six prehistoric sites along the proposed route of U.S. Highway 54 in El Paso County, Texas, were tested during the spring and summer of 1981. No further work is recommended at four of these sites due to the paucity of recovered materials and the general deflated and eroded nature of the sites.

Two sites are recommended for further work. Testing of Site 41EP321 produced two probable pithouse features with buried charcoal lenses and possible post holes as well as numerous varied artifacts including Mimbres Black-on-White, Chupardero Black-on-White, El Paso Brown, and El Paso Polychrome pottery types.
