On 23 October 2019, an archeological survey was completed in order to evaluate potential impacts to archeological resources associated with the proposed construction of Atmos Energy Corporation’s (Atmos) proposed D9 natural gas pipeline replacement in Dallas and Denton Counties, Texas. Approximately 5.5 miles of the replacement line is expected to be installed through open-cut trenching with approximately 1.5 miles installed through directional boring; this method will be utilized at all waterways and roadway crossings. On October 22, 2018, aci consulting conducted a cultural resources survey for the Legacy Force Main North, in Denton County, Texas. The Area of Potential Effect (APE) for this project consists of the 50-foot corridor for the proposed force main, incorporating two proposed alignments, totaling 1.63-miles (2.62-kilometers), and a total area of 11.39 acres (4.61 hectares) (Figures 1 and 2).

On July 3 and 5, 2019, an intensive archeological survey was completed in order to evaluate potential impacts associated with the proposed construction of a residential subdivision in the Town of Providence Village in east-central Denton County, Texas. A total of 162.64 acres (65.81 hectares) were examined with 65.39 acres (26.46 hectares) intensively shovel tested. The project would be situated between Farm-to-Market Road 2931 and Pecan Creek at the intersection of Farm-to-Market Road 2931 and Brewer Road with private properties as the north and south boundaries.

Liberty Multifamily, LLC is proposing to develop approximately 12 acres of a 22-acre tract east of FM2931, approximately 0.4 miles north of its intersection with Ike Byrom Road in Denton County, Texas. Liberty Multifamily, LLC contracted with AR Consultants, Inc. to conduct an intensive cultural resources survey of the 12 acres slated for development. Archaeological survey of the tract was conducted on July 17-18, 2019. Based on the research conducted prior to the survey, two hypotheses were developed. The City of Sanger is proposing to construct the 3.06-kilometer-long Sanger Outfall Pipeline in Denton County, Texas. Alan Plummer Associates, Inc. contracted with AR Consultants, Inc. to survey a 100-foot-wide corridor along the proposed route. AR Consultants, Inc. hypothesized that there would be low potential for both prehistoric and historic cultural resources. These hypotheses were based on the location of the pipeline route in the narrow Ranger Branch floodplain and lack of mapped historic structures remaining in the project area. The Town of Flower Mound is planning to construct 700-feet of road between two existing dead-end streets of Lake Forest Boulevard, located approximately 2 km to the northeast of Grapevine Lake in Denton County, Texas. A 100-foot-wide study corridor was surveyed for the project area. The 1.7-acre study areas was surveyed on August 16, 2017. All shovel tests were negative; however, a historic cistern/well feature was recorded as site 41DN604. On October 28, archeologists from POWER Engineers, Inc. (POWER) conducted an intensive archeological survey for the proposed Long Road electrical substation project (Project) in Denton County, Texas. The survey was undertaken on behalf of Denton Municipal Electric (DME) for a proposed substation facility that will connect with the existing Texas Municipal Power Agency 138 kV transmission line extending from the Denton North Interchange to the Arco Substation. No archeological materials were recorded as a result of the survey.

This report contains the results of interdisciplinary investigations of the Aubrey Clovis Site (41DN479}, located at Lake Ray Roberts, Denton County, Texas, and conducted by the Center for Environmental Archaeology, University of North Texas for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District. Exposed by construction of the artificial outlet channel for the reservoir, the site is a multi-cluster complex of archaeological features and artifact-fauna! concentrations buried 7-9 meters below the flood plain of the Elm Fork Trinity River.
