This study explores the potential of esports in workforce development, specifically for enhancing the communication and collaboration skills of Generation Z. As Generation Z enters the job market, a gap in necessary communication and collaboration skills has become evident. Esports, previously studied for its social skill development benefits (Nielson & Hanghoj, 2019), offers a unique platform for skill enhancement. Adopting a social constructivist framework (Shabani et al., 2010), this research investigates how esports participation can bridge this skill gap, crucial for career retention and progression.
