Total Curriculum Management (Tcm): An Integrated Curriculum Using Distributed Content, K. Michael
Total Curriculum Management (Tcm): An Integrated Curriculum Using Distributed Content, K. Michael
Associate Professor Katina Michael
This paper is concerned with practice, specifically, the implementation of a content management system (CMS) for the design of an integrated curriculum. The paper focuses on continuous assessment and how the notion of distributed content can be leveraged to help students become active learners, better integrate their knowledge, and develop critical thinking and professional skills throughout their candidature. Central to the paper is the idea of online resource sharing, reusable content chunks, metatagging, and customised workflows to aid in the coordination of tasks between stakeholders in achieving an integrated curriculum. In developing robust practices in accordance with overarching university and …

Conference Papers
Target-based research (treating infected site only), directed towards the design and mechanism of action of metal-based anticancer complexes is expanding rapidly due to the selectivity and activity of such novel therapeutics. The photo activation of Ruthenium (II) complexes as therapeutic drugs has recently escalated as the complexes are suitable for photoactivation due to their well published photochemical and photophysical properties which in turn is the basis of photodynamic approaches to therapy.1-5 The aim of this study is to synthesise a series of metallo-complexes of which will be tested on tumour and non-tumour cell lines in the Radiation & Environmental Science …

Faculty Publications and Presentations
Interaction of certain organic compounds with activated carbon and its effect on the carbon open circuit potentials were studied. It was shown that shifts in open circuit potentials depended on the filling of the activated carbon surface. Whereas adsorption of the investigated compounds on the carbon led to positive potential shifts, their elimination (desorption) from carbon surface led to shifts in the opposite direction. It was also observed that the time dependence of potential shifts is similar for different carbon brands. The magnitude of shifts depended on adsorption activity and porometric characteristics of the carbon adsorbent, as well as the …
