In light of increasing system demands, system regulations, and constrained resources, those living and working with dementia in the long-term care sector are vulnerable to oppressive care practices. Background: Long-term care facilities provide a wide range of services over a sustained period of time to people of all ages with functional limitations and chronic conditions. Nursing homes provide 24 hour nursing care support and long-term housing.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to explore the relationships among nursing home ownership, care processes and quality outcomes in Medicare- and Medicaid-certified nursing homes in Ohio.
