To meet the interprofessional education needs of students during the COVID-19 pandemic, universities transitioned to virtual options. For many universities, this transition was challenging and time-consuming. The Arkansas Interprofessional Education Consortium (ARIPEC) combined resources to create a novel learning experience for students with a focus on the skill of home assessment. An interinstitutional, interprofessional faculty project team was developed to create a learning experience, with each institution responsible for a portion of the virtual simulation development. Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic disease characterized by increased amounts of glucose in the blood, and is the seventh leading cause of death in the United States (United Health Foundation [UHF]), 2021). Diabetes, the seventh leading cause of death in the United States (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], 2020a) and the ninth leading cause of death worldwide (World Health Organization [WHO], 2020), has increased by 70% over the last two decades (WHO, 2020). Heart failure is a chronic, progressive disease that has a global burden on the healthcare system and on patient’s lives. HF patients who experience a hospital admission are at a greater risk of being readmitted to the hospital within 30 days, impacting healthcare spending costs and patient quality of life. Atopic Dermatitis (AD) is a chronic dermatological disease caused by a combination of hereditary and environmental factors. This is a common condition that is primarily diagnosed among children, but can persist throughout adulthood. Twenty peer-reviewed articles are analyzed in this expanded literature review. Various methods were implemented throughout these studies, including randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, and single-blind studies; all of the studies shared the objective of evaluating AD alleviation with the use of either standard treatment modalities or alternative/ complementary therapies.

Psychiatric patients are a known vulnerable population. This population often ends up in a cycle of decline post-hospitalization that leads to rehospitalization. The purpose of this study is to establish the feasibility for bringing psychiatric transitional care services to the local community. The methods for the study include a qualitative analysis of common themes discussed from the presentation of the idea of transitional care services for this area to area mental healthcare providers.
