Increased risk of diabetic complications including neuropathy, retinopathy, nephropathy, cardiovascular disease, and chronic wounds has been associated with an elevated hemoglobin A1C (HgA1C). Yet, only 60% of the diabetic population receives an annual eye examination by an eye specialist.
